So,  I have two last spots to plant something (I can't decide what),  so I'm hoping to pick the best from the best of everyone yard lol!

I live in So Cal and currently have Hawaiian Papayas, African Pride Atemoya,  Hasya Sapodilla,  Sweetheart Lychee,  Kishu Tangerine, Li Jujube,  Chocolate and Fuju Persimmons,  "Cát" Mango,  Hass Avocado, Seedless Guava, Longan, Wax Jambu, Grapefruit, Kumquat,  and Lemons!!  Is there any must - haves that I missed?

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / In-ground wax jambu tree for sale
« on: February 09, 2015, 08:39:17 PM »
I have a 3 year old in-ground wax jambu tree for sale.  It is healthy & yields lots of fruits each & every year.  The reason is because I already had another pink one,  and was trying to get a green/white variety.  I was told (by Mimosa nursery in LA)  that this was a green variety,  but the fruits turned out to be pink!

Please pm me your offer if you're interested.  Thank you!
Ps: You'll have to come dig it out yourself.

I have a 3 yr old Hasya Sapodilla that bears ton of flowers but so far, no fruits.   I wonder if I'd have to do anything to help it along, or perhaps it's just a bit too young to bear fruit?

Hi!  I just got a 20g Sweetheart Lychee ($140) & 1g Hasya Sapodilla ($68) last weekend  & I'm hoping you'd help answing some of my questions regarding the two of them :)

1)  The Lychee tree comes with tons of young fruits on it with the biggest ones the size of a dime.  Should I leave it alone in the pot until all the fruits develop or should I plant it in ground right now?  If I plant it now, would I risk transplant shock and loosing all potential fruits??  If I wait, then when is the best time to plant it?

2)  The Sapodilla tree is so tiny.  I'm afraid I'll kill it!!  Do you have any advice on its care?? Also, how many years would I have to wait for it to starts blooming/bearing fruits?

3) I have two spots in my back yard... One is next to the Avocado tree..  the other one is next to the between the Barbados Cherry, Wax Jambu & Lemon trees..  Does it make any difference which tree is planted in which spot??

Thanks :)

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Which Variety of Sapodilla for CA?
« on: June 01, 2012, 12:56:43 PM »
I only have a few spots left in the yard, and would love to plant a Sapodilla.   Which one should I choose between these two?  I'd like one that is sweeter, have higher yield and less "sandy" in texture.

I live in SoCal & those are the only two varieties I've seen in nurseries around here... I wonder if there is a better variety out there than these two & where to order it.

I have a 3-yr-old 4-in-1 cherry tree that had lots of flowers every year but never set fruits.  Actually after the flowers withered, lots of tiny fruits were formed, but they all fell of after a couple days.   Does anyone know why & is there anything I can do to help it?
