Just curious who grows the largest variety of mandarins/tangerines.

Here's the different mandarins listed per CCPP budwood/Citrus Variety Data:
-> Mandarin-Clementine
-> Mandarin-Satsuma
-> Mandarin-Tangelo
-> Mandarin-Tangor
-> Mandarin-Other

There are over 100 different varieties identified here so there should be many people who grow one or more of these.

Would like to see a photo of your large fruit and how much it weighs. I will take some photos of my whoppers and post later.

I will start with one of my larger Kiyomi Tangor.
1) Kiyomi, weight is 347 grams, see photo of fruit.

Can anyone beat this one ?? Please post your large fruit.

Citrus General Discussion / Bud Mutation - SVY Valencia Orange
« on: January 29, 2021, 01:00:49 AM »
Here's some neat photos of a new bud mutation of the variegated valencia orange.

The leaves are variegated, the fruits are not. The fruits starts off light yellow color (no strips) and keeps the same color, just get darker yellow when the fruit is fully ripe. Fruit tastes just like a valencia orange, but the size of the fruits are smaller than normal valencia. I call this one "SVY Valencia Orange"

SVY - Seedless Variegated leaf Yellow fruit Valencia Orange. I have not seen this one anywhere else.

Citrus General Discussion / Picking Sanbokan
« on: January 27, 2021, 02:48:09 AM »
Can anyone who is growing Sanbokan tell me when to pick the fruit when it is ripe?
I only have 3 fruits on my grafted tree so I don't want to pick it until it tastes the best. I will compare the taste of this one to my NZ Lemonaide.

Citrus General Discussion / Sanbokan vs NZ lemonade
« on: December 09, 2020, 11:36:06 AM »
Can anyone that has tasted both the Sanbokan and NZ Lemonade tell me how the taste compares. Which one do you like more.
I'm trying to decide which one to keep, I tasted the NZ Lemonade and its not bad, but my Sanbokan fruits are still green but much larger than the NZ lemonade and the branches seems much sturdier.

The fruit has a belly button that sticks out. I hope I can get the same fruit on this branch again next season.

Citrus General Discussion / Snow Lemon ?
« on: October 11, 2020, 01:23:29 AM »
Just wondering if anyone has seen a snow (white branch) lemon.
I know Laaz has that nice looking snow FD, but I have not heard of anyone with a snow lemon.

I have a bud mutation that I have grafted on my trees and it has been kept alive for 10+yrs. The grafted branches still needs to be on a normal green rootstock but my grafted branches grow pretty decent, about 3-5ft long with many side branches before the tips eventually get sun burned and turn brown and start to die back to the white branch. I do get fruits on my snow lemon and just curious if anyone else has seen such a lemon branch.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Huge Loquat Leaves
« on: October 09, 2020, 12:11:46 AM »
Interesting growth. Has anyone seen big/large loquat leaves on seedling plants or any varieties bigger than this one?

I have many varieties and many large seedling loquat trees but this one seems to have giant leaves. It is even larger than the Peluche loquat leaves.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / ID Cherimoya tree
« on: September 17, 2020, 04:35:02 PM »
Can anyone look at these photos and let me know if this is a cherimoya tree.
I had one fruit years ago and it tasted good, rather large fruit (1 lb).

The tree grows very fast, I top it every year to 5ft, but it grows over 15 by the end of the year. It has large oval leafs.
Also, if its a cherimoya, can you guess what type it is.
