Tropical Fruit Discussion / Help ID Abiu variety
« on: September 26, 2017, 12:57:39 PM »

This one (in the pics below) was grown in a farm in Malaysia, and the owner says it's from a tree grown from a seed sent to him from Australia. Could it be one of those great Aussie varieties like Z4, E4 etc?

« on: August 06, 2015, 05:34:20 PM »
Would like to know if it is possible to carry plants (of mostly introduced species, like Durian, Abius, Pulasan etc) out of Australia. Isn't that allowed in most countries/airports??

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Interesting Jack variety from Laos
« on: April 29, 2015, 05:45:24 AM »
Hi All,

Thought of sharing a few snaps of this rare and interesting Jackfruit i managed to get from a friend's farm here in Kerala, last month. The Jack tree was raised from seed brought from Laos a few decades ago. The fruit weighs an average 1.5 Kg, is less pungent compared to the regular Jack varieties, and is almost latexless. The arils are bright yellow, long, with smaller seeds and the flesh is crunchy & sweet. Though a good fruit on the whole, i'd prefer some of the superior native varieties to this one!

Hello People!

I'm looking for suppliers who can send 20 Seeds of Mamey Sapote (any of the popular varieties, preferably Mangana, Pantin, Pace etc) to India. Since the seeds have very short viability, you might have to send them via priority mail. Also quote the price per seed, including shipping.

Thanks,
Jacob

Hello People,

Can someone tell me whether Miracle fruit plants could be interplanted in fruit orchard with large trees  - say Durian, Jackfruit or Cempedak? Can the plant do well under shade or it is better to plant them in the shadeless open area?

I'm planning a 7.5 acre durian orchard with durian planted at a spacing of 40 X 40 feet. Wanted to know if Miracle fruit would do well as an intercrop. Please advise.

Thanks in advance!
