Tropical Fruit Discussion / What is this on my sugar apple? Snails? Shells?

So I have a two or three year old sugar apple and it noticed these shells on it the other day. I can't figure out what they are and I assume they are bad for the plant but I don't know the best way to eliminate them.

Any help or advise or experience is much appreciated

I know there are dozens of dragon fruit threads with a lot of great info but I couldn't find a thread just about flavor preference.

So. If quantity of fruit, self compatibility and heartiness are not a factor, what is your favorite variety?

We all like pics. We need more pics. Here is a place to post fruit porn. Blooms, buds, greenies,  ripe, even already harvested, lets see some fruit

Here is a brown turkey fig I picked yesterday, my mulberries and some brand new blooms on my Sri starfruit.
