« on: February 03, 2020, 11:27:53 AM »
For some reason its new leaf growth is weird. Itís almost as if it is covered in some wax or sap that restricts the leafís expansion and growth.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Which online nursery do you trust?
« on: October 27, 2018, 12:32:08 PM »
So recently Iíve been contemplating adding a jackfruit tree to my yard here in Cali(I know temp. And all protect and so on). Anyways, Iíve been checking some online nurseries such as plantogram and toptropicals. I know shipping stresses the plants and Iím not concerned with that. Iím concerned if what Iím ordering is truly the variety I ordered. I was going to order a Honey Gold Jackfruit but Iíve seen that mislabeling is a problem in most of these places. So which one is the least prone? I mentioned two nurseries maybe there are more online ones so suggestions are appreciated.

I know these are varieties that are protected but Iíve seen a few people growing them from seed since they are poly embryonic. I want to try and see if I can get my hands on some seeds maybe just couple.

16
Looking to purchase a  grafted cherimoya plant. The variety doesnít matter much as long as itís a decent cultivar(decent size fruit, low seed and great flavor).

Thank you.

I just got a soncoya fruit to see if I like it. I didnít care much for the taste unfortunately. Anyways, I was left with around 25 seeds which Iím contemplating germinating or not. I might grow one tree to maturity just as a collection piece. However I was wondering if soncoya is a good Rootstock for any other Annona species. I saw a few old posts here but no answers except for one individual saying they thought they got a geffner atemoya on soncoya rootstock just to discover it wasnít. So does anyone know their comparability?

Iím looking for a few seeds maybe 5-10. I ordered recently from a seller and it took over. a month and all I got was a heap of rotting plants. They were already germinating and rotted in transit. So I donít mind paying for express shipping if need be.

Thanks

Comment or PM if you have or know where I can find one.

Thanks

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Maprang on Mango Rootstock
« on: September 14, 2018, 04:29:42 PM »
Iíve seen a few post on this topic but I didnít find any pictures of any success stories. Has anyone had luck with it? Iím willing to give it a try if there is proof that it works other than old reports. I have some maprang seedlings but they are yet to reach the size needed for grafting but I have tons of mango plants ready to be grafted. So has anyone had any luck?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Rambutan Scions
« on: September 11, 2018, 09:57:56 PM »
Anyone has any idea how long rambutan scions can last? I was hoping on patch budding some seedlings I have at home but my grafted tree is too small so I was going to try to find someone who has scion wood so I wanted to know how long could the scion wood survive say a 2 week trip.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Annona Scions
« on: September 06, 2018, 10:12:43 PM »
so Iím getting some scions in the mail Saturday but I wonít be able to graft until next week Sunday. Can the scions handle being stored for around 8 days? Do I put them in the vegetable cabinet in the fridge or can they handle being at room temperature since they are in a ziplock bag. They are scions of Cherimoya and atemoya.
