How much of a ďmiracleĒ mango is it? Iím planning on grafting some rootstock I have into chok anon. Iím not really interested in taste just in terms of offseason production. So does it deliver? I really want to know. If itís not worth it then Iíll just use the rootstock for some lemon merengue.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Mangosteen taproot help!
« on: June 19, 2018, 08:57:18 PM »
So today I chose to plant a purple mangosteen tree I had in my nursery. Itís a little over 2yes old, 1.5ft tall and looked super healthy. Anyways, while removing it from the bag for transplant I heard a was the tap root(it seems to have a divided into two one was bent and the other tore). I freaked and ran to find the first thing that I believed could help ensure itís survival, in this case it was some rooting hormone that I got but never used. I applied it to the tap root and the side roots that were poking out; it must have lost around 3inches of the tap root. I later watered it carefully. Has this happened to anyone else??? Did your one survive?  Here are some pictures.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Dragonfruit information
« on: May 20, 2018, 02:03:09 PM »
Hi, So recently Iíve been interested in planting a few dozen dragonfruit plants in my backyard. However, Iím a novice when it comes to varieties. I am interested in growing red, white and purple fleshed dragon fruits  but I donít know which are the best varieties within each type in terms of fruit size, production and taste since Iíll be selling the fruit at the local farmers market so I want to give customers a large but also tasty fruit. In terms of the red Iíve been told that zamorano and the original H. Costaricensis are the best. Then white Iíve heard about Thompson, H1 and the common Vietnamese varieties. Purple haze is the only in terms of purple. Are there any experts that could help me

Citrus General Discussion / Rootstock help.
« on: May 20, 2018, 01:01:32 PM »
So Iím planning on growing some gold nugget mandarin, pink lemons, blood oranges and some cara caras. I was wondering what would be the best rootstock to use for them. The climate of the region is usually hot and dry then when it rains it gets sort of flooded. Can anyone help me?
