I'm going to try the red yarn.
This is what I'm trying this year.
Used chicken wire and screening fabric to make a cage.
I move it up the tree as more fruits are pollinated removing the lower leaves as I go up.

There is a small botanical garden in Tobago-don't know if that will interest you. I think it's in or near Scarborough.

In the area of Aranguez in Trini, there are quite a few nurseries that will show up online if you do a search of Trinidad nurseries. The Royal a Botanical Garden in POS is a nice visit.
But as stated before, not many things will be in season right now. Have fun, be safe.

I'm not quite sure but it looks like an oil palm, maybe Elaeis oleifera.
Just a guess

Spondias dulcis-
Fresh June plum FRUIT for sale. This fruit is from the large tree, not the dwarf tree
The fruit will be shipped green.

June Plum is often eaten green or ripened (matured). It makes delicious jams, pickels & chutney.  Kids love eating it raw with salt and pepper. Green June Plum can also make a refreshing juice that contains Vitamin C.

Will ship a box of 25 or 50 fruits (USA only) while supplies last.  Please pm me for more info.

Thanks

In my friends beach house in the islands, mangoes are planted all over the beach with the roots submerge in extremely high tide.  Now I don't know if its the particular cultivars but the trees don't seem to have any problems.

Checked ASaffron's website. None available right now.  Eric hasn't gotten back to me either. So I'm still looking.  :)
