Citrus General Discussion / Re: Meyer lemon tree-yellowing leaves
« on: January 08, 2021, 07:24:49 AM »
It seems like my yuzu tree is currently removing old leaves, same as what was posted in the original post in this thread. The older leaves are yellowing while the new growth is still green and shiny.

I just wanted to confirm with the more experienced citrus grower here just to make sure I'm not ignoring a problem on my tree. Thank you

Well that sounds great. It's pretty much the ideal scenario for me. Possibly my first fruit while not slowing down the growth.

Mines aren't producing any fruit yet, but they're growing fast right now. It gets me excited for next year.

I do have one tree with one single flower. Will this prevent my tree from growing new branches and new leaves?
I'd rather have a bigger tree next year than collect a single off season fruit, unless it does anything to the growth.

Citrus General Discussion / Any use for fallen blossoms?
« on: November 05, 2020, 07:56:27 AM »
I was wondering if there was any use for fallen blossoms on citrus trees. Can those flowers be used to make products such as orange blossom water or perfumes?

Does any of you use those flowers, and if so, how do you use them?

Thank you lebmung for the reply.

It's most likely too much red light. My grow light provides mostly red and blue light. My yuzu is my tallest tree and some of the branches were right under the lamp.

I didn't know yuzu needed some rest. I thought hivernating was optional.
I'm also growing buddha's hand, Australian fingerlime and cara cara oranges in that tent. Can those grow all year long without affecting fruit quality?

Good news then, I was worried for a deficiency of some sort.

Another newbie question, how long does it approximately take for new growth to harden?

Hi,
I've recently started to grow some citrus trees in a grow tent. My yuzu tree seems to be doing just fine except for the very top leaves. They are half yellow.

Because those leaves are almost touching my grow lights, I'm assuming it must be some sort of sunburn symptoms. I wanted to check with you guys to make sure my assumptions are correct. I got into citrus growing only a few weeks ago, so I still have a lot to learn.

I'm having the same problem on my fingerlime tree.

@Gogu if you read this, I am curious to know which steps you took and how well it went.

@Millet I was planning to spray neem oil on my tree. Should I spray pure oil, or should I dilude it?
