Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Seeds Del Mundo dishonest business?
« on: September 30, 2022, 10:29:31 PM »
Can I ask why this business is still able to promote on the forum, when they scam/steal money from so many people?

There should be a warning attached to this business. They have stolen a lot of money from me and make no communication and send nothing.

:(

Well, I've read their reaction and the screenshot says something else. Not fair of you to point that way and give Seeds Del Mundo a bad name when I see that there has indeed been communication. I'm sorry you're acting so bitter. Sometimes it is more correct to just contact the seller yourself than to launch a smear campaign against the company. Because I see that you have indeed had contact.

I am looking for 6 seedlings of the Borassus flabilifer (Toddy Palm or Palmyra). I have 2 myself, but I recently found out that there must be male and female trees for fruiting. Who can help me? It does not have to be sent to Suriname. The Netherlands is also an option. ;D

Probably a big fusia. World record 9 1/4 pounds

That would be a dream, so heavy! We will wait for the first fruits. Maybe then we'll get a clear picture of what it is. The Marcus Pumpkin is the most similar. Thank you for thinking along.

Probably a seedling so you can name it what you like. The closest named variety like that grafted here in Florida would be "Marcus Pumpkin". Here are common sizes for mine:

Maybe call it Pompoen?

Thanks for your reaction. Your avocados do look a lot like mine. I think you are right. We'll stick to the Marcus Pumpkin seedling. When the first fruits arrive, we will look further.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Giant Avocado
« on: July 24, 2022, 10:20:52 AM »
Hi all,
I bought this avocado here a few years ago at a Chinese supermarket. I was surprised at the size. The pulp was also a lot. I've searched everywhere to find the real name, to no result. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of the inside. However, I planted the seed and the tree grows more robustly and faster than the common species in Suriname. Does anyone recognize this species? :)

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Barrilillo???

Maybe Posoqueria latifolia? If it's a Jacaratia, the palmate leaves should be pretty distinctive.

Yes!!! That's it. Yesterday the owner of the tree told my friend this name. We just cut the fruit and the inside is really beautiful. But not very tasty. Thanks a lot for your help!

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Barrilillo???
« on: January 06, 2022, 07:59:52 PM »
Hi all,
I got this fruit from a friend. He didn't know what it was. The fruit has a strong odor. After some searching on the internet I don't get any further than the Jacaratia dolichaula (Barrilillo). The fruit looks similar, but I can't find anything about the strong smell. Can someone help me identify?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / What kind of Palm is this?

Can anyone help me identify this Palm? It flowers now and also has small fruits. I was hoping for the Oil Palm but can't find good comparison material on Google.
Thank you! :D

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Any idea what kind of fruit/nut this is?
« on: June 04, 2019, 09:05:39 PM »
My niece found this fruit by the water in the tropical rain forest here in Suriname. I have asked some people if they know what it is, but nobody has an answer. It seems like a nut to me. Does anyone know the name of this fruit / nut? And if so, can you eat this?

He even didn't answer the PayPal team in 10 days. Today PayPal mailed me that they will refund me.

We are now a week further and I have not heard from Stu. Also the tracking number is still not available. I now know enough and am going to get my money back through Paypal. Hopefully we can prevent others from placing orders from him and getting into the same situation.

14
I also bought seeds from this website https://malaythai-fruit-seeds-from-the-tropics.network/, and had a good mailcontact with a man called Stu.
When I ordered and checked out I was redirected via Paypal to http://thai-market.online
I have had a trackingnumber on wednesday but I still can't track it.
You guys are making me afraid because now I checked http://thai-market.online and see that it's not an existing website.
I will contact Stu and ask him what's going on. And if I can't track my order this week, I will open a dispute.
I will keep you guys informed.

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Re: BLUE JABOTICABA (aka Blue Grape)
« on: December 19, 2018, 08:51:06 AM »
Hi Satha, My tree just bloomed and has little fruits now. Beside the little fruits it has a few mature ones. It looks like it's an everbearer in the tropics. When I have a lot of ripe fruits I always make a fruit-giveaway with all kind of fruits we have for family. If it's okay with you I will sent some Blue Grapes for you in that family-package and aks my sister to sent it for you from Holland. The only cost for you is a symbolic $1,00 (for 10 fruits) and the shippingcosts from Holland to Sri Lanka. I will pm you when the Blue Grapes are ready. I think March/April.

Do you also ship with EMS? The problem with the Netherlands with post from Malaisia is that the Dutch customs are helding the post for almost 2 weeks. With EMS (from Indonesia) it seems that they keep it only one day.

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Re: Tropical Persimon Seeds
« on: November 12, 2018, 08:55:08 PM »
I have 2 persimmons (Ichikikei Jiro Fuyu and the Giant Fuyu) which I bought 4 years ago as plants from Californie. These were grafted on a Kaki. The plants only grow, but no flowers. The problem is they don't get chillhours in the tropics. I have also a Diospyros digyna (Black sapote), a big tree about 5 meters high. I only spotted 2 flowers last year, but no fruit. Some say that I have to wait 5 years for fruiting...so I'm still waiting. ;)
