it depends on how they're pollinated.

I have a couple cherilatas left but don't have the proper permits to ship to California.

Hi Aaron, thanks for your reply! May I ask the following:

- what is their rootstock, moya or pond apple or custard apple?
- can you ship to Texas or Oregon?

I'm not setup to ship plants sorry

A Pitomba at Home Depot? Only in south Florida. from Pine Island or Excalibur or something?
That's cool they stock there I guess.

Probably from pine island nursery they sell to a lot of the big box stores.  Excalibur's doesn't wholesale as far as I know.

The Panchadara Kalassa I had from Tropical Acres was one of the best mangos Ive eaten. Its a top tier mango thats very juicy and sweet with some spice. More folks should try to grow this one.

I passed on those because it was described as a juicing mango. Your description sounds a lot better ill have to pick some up next time.

Not much help but besides Vihn Long, Karlong, and Panchadara Kalassa, I believe Zill also grafted Cat Chu and Xoai Tuong mango trees this year that I saw.

I haven't seen those available yet, but its possible they sold out before I could get any

Thanks for the info

Nobody else knows anything about these? I know there's some people on here who know Gary personally.

I just picked up some of these trees from zills

Does anyone have any information on them? I cant find anything online other than its a region in Vietnam.

there's a couple other mangoes they're grafting this year i haven't seen before.

Kar Lon Long
Panchadara Kalassa

Curious what you all thought about them, are they worth picking up too?

So far this year the top tier is:

Dupuis
Brite Bite
Seacrest
Cac
Phoenix

There is a large group of second and third tier mangoes.

The Dupuis I got from Verna Zill last week takes top honors. Fortunately, she surprised me, and pulled out a handful of Brite Bites. Those two are pretty unique, I can’t place those within any of the standard flavor classes.

The Cac I bought from Alex and Becky @ TAF were phenomenal.

Brite bites a good mango. I was really surprised by it.

You'd figure a bunch of misplaced tropical fruit growers would be excited about global warming

20 inches of rain in a short time will do that. concrete jungle doesn't drain well either.

At this point I think they are playing jokes on us with these names.

I thought the same thing. They did pretty good job with some of the other new names, but watermelon splash just isn't appealing to me as a mango.  Renaming seacrest triple sec bothers me too.

i tried one last year but it was picked too green to give a proper review.

no love for cotton candy?

Yepp definetly Dabai,
Also wampee, had some big really sweet ones the other day! WOW delicious. Better then a Lychee IMO. And the tree does give fruit yearly in abundance here while Lychee is always patchy even in the highlands.

wampee definitely belongs on this list.

jabo wine ftw. It comes out hot pink and tasting like fruit punch.
