Hi All, has anyone seen or done any hybridizing of Eugenia Luschnathiana (pitomba) -Brasiliensis (grumichama)- Uniflora (surinam cherry)??  I am looking to try this but would like to save some time "years" if someone has already done any of this.                             Regards  Patrick

Hi JC, hard to say without seeing your trees, you know that they are not a shade plant. maybe look at them like you would a bush bean if you can relate to them that way would a bush been grow there? but I would start at the drip line and work in from there. did you get seeds or plants?          Regards    Patrick

Tony your asking a lot for that cape soil even weeds grass has a hard time (smutgrass ,indian goose grass) kidding aside there was a perennial peanut called waxy leaf that was a deep rhizome that could take bad conditions.
The gem mango wood is growing yeh!
Shot, do you know where you can get small amounts of FRESH seed of this waxy leaf type??? i have ordered seeds twice before and just received dried up unviable seed. I would like to try it in southern Ca. around my pineapple

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Re: Looking for avacado budwood
« on: January 23, 2020, 11:06:14 AM »
I am looking to top work my avacado tree and need budwood. No real preference as to variety as I am rather new.
sorry I must be missing something?? why do you want to top work your avocado tree!? BUT you do not care what you top work it with why not save some of the scions you remove and use them.?would be good practice then later on when you taste or hear of something you want look for scions of that

Hi, Iím not interested in buying but interested in taste for you? Sweet/acid balance? Or mostly acid? Iíve heard the taste can vary widely from plant to plant. I have one in the ground that should, hopefully, set this year. Cheers.
Hi Nate, think of passion fruit when you eat it also smells like passion fruit this bush is about 5 years old fruited last year a bit and this year about 140 fruits , I have 2 different types of them both grown in #5 pots
