Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Thai sweet pink Tamarind ripening?
« on: February 08, 2019, 06:09:13 PM »
Hello,

To me in the past when I eat Tamarind, when you squeeze the shell it crack. That may be too ripe for you. When almost ripe it should have space between shell and the meat. The meat shrink as it ripens.

I like it when it almost ripe as it is sweet and a sour.

HEllo,

I'm no expert, but here's my opinion.

1. Grafted plants
2. Air-Layer plants
3. Cutting plants
4. seedling plants

Vincent.

Frank,

I would also be interested in one of each of your grafted guavas trees. Can you add me to your list?

Vincent.

Frank,

What variety are those two fruits? Are they Dream atemoya? They look very tasty and great looking fruit to boot.

I would like some of those seeds, what do you want to trade them for? I have some cherimoya/atemoya seeds. Would you be interested in such a trade?

A few members have asked me if they could combine Mamey with the mangos, sapodillas and anonas to reach the 10 minimum scions. The answer is Yes. Another question was is there a discount on scions if I buy more? The answer is Yes. The price drops to $4 per scions if you buy 100 or more. Another question was can I combine my order with someone else to reach the 100 scions. The answer is Yes as along as you have one address to ship. I will not do a group order and ship to each individual. If there are any more questions please PM or email me.
Thanks for yr patience
Frank

That's customer service for you! One of the nicest person I ever met and knowledgeable at that.   If you ever have the time it's worth driving down to his place, of course check with him first.  Kinda give you an idea what you can turn your own yard into.

 Thanks again Frank

I second that.

Vincent.

Warren,

Thanks for great presentation. Do you know where I can get a copy of the slide you did? I didn't see on foothill website.

I have a voice recording of Warren's presentation. Its missing the first minute or two.

Not sure how to upload, so those who would like a copy pm me and provide your email address. I'll try to email them to you. File is about 22MB. It should be playable with any video/audio player.

What a brutal heatwave we had in socal this last few days. I was off at work and didn't realize it could get this hot. Now that the temp has come down to within summer heat what is the best way to help those fruit trees and seedling pull thru without dying. I am concern for some of my cherimoya seedlings and grafted cherimoya seedling.

I brought all seedlings and grafted seedlings into as much shade as possible. I'm hoping those in the know have a plan.

Thanks,
Vincent.
