I have asked Jim, I will let you know once he gets back to me. Regards

Mine flowering very heavily now. Let's see if they hold some fruits this time?

I have a number of seedlings, the fastest growing is in my kitchen window and overall very slow as seedling I think, how long have you had to wait Oscar?

May want to check with Brad aka 'Spaugh' he is in poway.

Do not bother, unless you plan to get import permit first.

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Re: Buy Cacao Tree San Diego

I have about 20+ different small plants grown from seed from grafted varieties. I could sell and ship if interested. They're all unnamed however so not sure what they are until they fruit.

I am growing a relative 'Cupuasu' but only have three seedlings and am still learning about them. Leaves browning fast and developing spots before they drop, so am trying to workout why. Anyhow if interested connect with me in spring hopefully the three make it and I can trade you for one of them or something...

My friends 4.5 to 5 years is flowering right now . I saw the tree myself it's about just under 6 foot. I should have taken pictures ..

Grows fast and very easy to grow as house plant. My plant is out growing its container in the house.

Its a rare tree, and not many have it fruiting at least in north america that I know of.. I wasn't going to sell it until I saw your post. I have two that are around 4.5 years old and should be close to flowering/fruiting.

My first experiment growing fruit seedling using a home made Hydroponic Deep Water Culture system (DWC).

I am using mason jars hand painted to match fruit color, well sort of! I was out of labels and of course when you are out labels you paint with colors that matches the fruit 🤔🤔🤣 I have one painted to match that of Achacha and a blue jar as well, not sure what to do with the blue jar!

I decided to experiment with Garcinia, specifically Garcinia Mangostana (aka mangosteen), why? simply because Garcinias in general are extremely slow growers, that couldn't be more true when it comes to Mangosteen. they are also extremely difficult to grow out of their habitat, requiring high humidity, specific soil mix, and tropical temperature all year round.

I chose a solar powered air pump I found on Amazon; so that I can move it outdoors when needed. The jars came with lids that are pre-cut and perfectly fits 3" hydro mesh basket.

I must admit I have not done any prior research to see if Magosteen would be a good candidate to grow in a DWC set up. It will be interesting to see how long I can keep it alive, I will be growing another seedling (same batch and same size) in regular soil mix to compare side by side...

its day two and I haven't killed it yet......To be continued.

Interesting you say that, my manila is doing the same, I was having this discussion in a Facebook group. I have other seedlings such as Carrie and unknown Hawaiian I got from Steve(exotica recommended rootstock). The Hawaiian seedling is kicking butt..

Thanks both Brad and Simon, I did stop there myself couple of nights ago. Where do you guys typically get your La verne / Manila from ? I am down to one rootstock, I would consider seeds as well.

Highly recommend doing business with him.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience with eBay, I think we all have experienced issues at some point! I often feel my arms are twisted by ebay as a seller as well as a buyer, but honestly when you have limited amount of cuttings it can be overwhelming to decide who should get them and especially overwhelming to handle the amount of private messages and the back and forth replies that turn into no sale at all.

I think you shouldn't be discouraged though; I feel eBay is much better than it used to be few years ago, must always be careful when you pick who to deal with of course, but they have improved and so they have to because of competition now days.

Seeds arrived in great shape, thanks for sharing !
