Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: feijoa pineapple guava

Quick question, do these ripen off tree? I just bought a few to try before buying the tree but I donít think that they are ripe yet(still hard).
they fall of the tree when ripe, and they should be pretty firm

Well I bought some locally since I wanted to try them before buying the tree, but I think the ones I bought were picked off the tree and not fell down from ripening.

That's a relief. I guess I'll just put it in the ground now.

Can someone tell me why the leaves are turning red? I bought the tree about a month ago and it is still sitting inside the pot. I planned to put it in the ground in Spring or should I do it now?

Does anybody know a nursery or private party that sells one or are they still banned?

I gave her a call, she doesn't have any available at the moment.

Does anyone know where I can buy some locally to eat until I can grow my own? I scoured my local asian supermarkets in little Saigon with no luck.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Is my jujube tree dying?

Thanks for the inputs. I will stop using store bought fertilizer. Is meal-worm casting a good natural fertilizer since I found out about a place in Compton that sells 40lb bags for $10.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Is my jujube tree dying?
« on: September 30, 2018, 07:42:52 PM »
I just planted this sugarcane jujube tree about 5 months ago. It had many flowers but most of it fell off and only gave about 10 fruits which are really tasty. But starting a month ago I see that the leaves are turning yellow, and I don't know if it's going into dormant state or it is just dying. Please advise.
