It all depends how thick a juice you want. Normally of that size coconut, the first blending yields about 500ml thick juice. I add some more warm water and blend to get a second wash. You can either mix the two washes, or keep them separate for different purposes. A thick juice is good for fish or chicken curry. In the northeast of Brazil we make couscous out of yellow cornmeal steamed in a basket over boiling water. After it sets, transfer to shallow serving bowl and pour the thin coconut milk over it.Thanks for the advice and info, no need to send the recipe sheet, I got the idea. I'm pretty good at going by words. Every since I went to culinary school and learned the basics, I can pretty much just wing a recipe by looks/taste or words with out much instructions. Then again, I already knew most of the basics of cooking even before going to cooking school and only learn some new word terminology and techniques
Can send you detailed recipe.

The root can regenerate the plant even at a severe damage ... I've neglected the plant, and the scale love the plant, but when the trunk needs to be cut, or the scale damage branches, the root will make a new trunk. The only thing though, don't overwater. The root will rot and no more bouncing back.Yes, I know about the Filipino thingy
In the Philippines it's stripped from the stems and cooked in soups, sometimes with pods, sometimes not. Another way is to dry the leaves and make Malunggay Tea. It's incredibly good for you.

My mom's pkm 1 from last year, flowered first at 5 1/2 months(7-8 ft by then, so very tall) from seeds and continuously flowered until October, then finally set a light crop, but it was soon going colder and colder so, never ripen in time and we had to hack it down to a stump to cover it.
My PKM1 flowered about 18 months from seed. In 3 years with about 8 trees of various origins (only one PKM1) I have only ever seen one pod. Lots of flowers but pods are not happening here...
I've been trying yo grow the PKM 1 for a few years but the stems are flexible and bend. And they don't grow fast enough and die back to the ground in winter. Are you sure about that Fang? My mother's plants grew from seeds flowered by 5 1/2 months and was about 7-8 ft tall(PKM 1 variety). They really grow fast and if you stare all day, you can even see them growing some
Thao, does the mango have fibre? All the Hadens I've eaten have always had fiber...I've never tasted an Alphonso before thoughPugs, no fiber at all, completely fiberless. I've had really Haden from Zands before and they don't taste anything alike, only maybe shape and color?
Those mangoes sure looks delicious from my end

Yes, Thao, never seen a DROP of red on any of my Alphonso's. Only green now,I guess Alphonso is out of the question for now. In that first pic with the yellow fruit, it was mostly yellow and all those other greener ones, turns either red or yellow as you let them ripen.
with yellow on the way!

I see, maybe JF or MangoFang or other Ca member that might have this Alphonso cultivar chime in what they think it is. Thanks Rob for your knowledge and helpWhen I asked her what variety she has, she said she only has two large 10+ year old trees. She said they are Alphonso? and Haden. This supposedly tree/Alphonso is ripening their fruits now and all those fruits in those pics are from the same tree, I think? Since she said her other Haden tree is a later season one. I guess she doesn't remember which cultivar it was either that she planted 10+ years ago?
I personally have only seen a small handfull of Florida grown Alphonso (does not bear well here), and none of them have had a predominant red coloration.

They do on Amazon, but it's quite pricey for a little only(I think 6 or 9 for $70?). Though they don't have any for sale now, but another seller is for the same price. I don't buy fruits online, unless I know it has been grown locally/domestically and not sent from around the world. I would rather go straight to the source and enjoy all I can eat when it's in season for a fraction of these online wholesale company' prices. But, if you want to try then go ahead and give it a shot, it is good, just not like fresh tree ripen or fresh from the sourceDoes anyone know where I can get Mangosteen online?
Try Melissa's. They're a wholesale fruit distributor. Not sure if they will sell retail.
Can someone please provide Tim Thompson's telephone contact number. I purchased 10 trees last year for delivery this year and yet to here from him or get a reply to my emails? Thank you.I don't know his #, but I think the orders won't be process and sent out until this July? At least the group order I'm part of won't get their tree till then too, hope this gives you some comfort

Sounds yummy. I'll have to try it some day. Usually eat the durians just on their own, just because they are so precious. The cat is out of the bag
I can tell you're Asian because only Asians seem to like salt in their smoothies. I honestly can't stand any salt in smoothies.

There is another member in Ca that had order from her. I too have order from her. The mango tree were large, but the longan did not make it for me. I am in Pa and it took 3 days to get to me from Fl.That's what I should have done in the first place, instead of placing my order with her. She didn't offer any refund, apology or any kind of compromise for a dead and broken plant, just said we have a 3 day return/replacement policy. She offered to replace it for a new plant, if i wanted, but could you believe she said it would cost me an additional $20+shipping
She is slow to response to my email. I would have ordered her the 2nd time around but due to the slow response, I went with Plantogram. Mickey takes pictures of the actual plants that I want.
thanks for the feedback. That's good, the seller is usually fast in replying back to questions. Great selection, reasonable price............let's hope she sends you actual picture of your potential plants?
will surely ask them about the packaging .
right now i have asked for the pictures of the actual plants that will be shipped to me, let see if he/she can reply back
