Shoot the 4 this year ....... the savings from not buying beef at Publix for the next 12 mos will pay for the fence next year  : )

Kinda kidding ...... spaugh is prolly accurate ....... more will come

If it's only the 4 deer and they have other options for food taking one or scaring the hell out of all 4 might work.  You may just have 4 deer that have dialed in on your shmorgessboard ( spell check that please )!!

Long term though a fence is the only way ........ they drive the farmers crazy where I hunt

That's a bummer ....... I'm heading back down there Wednesday to get 30 more trees ...... not sure what I will end up with ...... obviously I can only buy what they have available.

After these 30 go in the ground I won't be planting any more mango until after the barns go up ( July/august completion ) ....... wonder if I should buy trees now for later and just keep them in pots until I'm ready? ........ sounds like it will be even slimmer picking if I wait

Interesting thank you ....... how long did it take before you had problems and how did you figure out things had changed?  ......... stress on the trees?

I just had it checked and it is 400 ppm right now

I put in a well and the irrigation will be up and running tomorrow ( hopefully ) ........ the irrigation guy tested the water and said it is very very low in salt and was kinda shocked because salt is sometimes a problem in my area.

The water is Mirky .... kinda milky looking and has a slight sulfur smell ....... I'm going to take some to the pool company in the morning to get tested

I am assuming salt won't be an issue but what other stuff should I look for or be afraid of before I use it on these newly planted mango's?

ive got about about 4 weeks of stuff planned ahead of this project but when i do it i will post picks and any thing interesting i run into ....... im glad you pointed out that dry crete is strong crete ...... i thought it was the oposite.   do they sell the concrete with fiberglass fibers in it in bags or is that only from the big companies delivering premix? ....... seems like that would help with the brittlenes .....

That's probably the route I will go .......... I like the texture of the concrete  ( you could even create more in the mold ) it gives the burlap and the roots something to grip and the concrete can hold some moisture

Your in for a treat!  I have not had that variety but all of the low chill varieties I have had were fantastic.  I agree on letting nature take its course for a bit but definitely eventually thin some fruit ..... they remaining will get bigger

Also the limbs will not be able to support the ones out at the ends so you may want to thin those first and leave the ones on the beefier portions of the branches
