I have some really nice stuff growing and i guess since it is so common i just took it for granted. I dont have a loquat!! my question is about "big jim" . it appears to be offered by california nurseries and i am attracted to it because it supposedly produces giant fruit. does anyone grow it in florida, is it good and do any of you know where i can get one in florida? i just planted a little "oliver" but would like to buy a bigger already producing tree.

first off i have an open mind and definately realize that some people like a certain fruit or variety of........that being said i had a guava a couple of years back and the fruit had a really bad aroma (oder)????? i dug it up and was done with it. do these new cultivators have that same attribute? is that quava and its just not for me?

can you give me a short speach on growing from seed? do they grow true or is it hit or miss as to what you end up with. i am only interested in sweet fruit and would hate to spend a few years on a gamble. I never could get those things to like me..........i do usually have a green thumb but they just never acted right? how quick do they grow from seed and how long til fruit? thanks

uncovered..........i swear i have done more damage trying to protect my trees than has ever happened by letting them ride it out. i think your a little north of me and have harder freezes but for 34-36 i would not mess with it. it looks like it will be a good mango year
