If you wait for a strong smell the critters will get it, I would pick it now. As fruitlovers said it will ripen indoors.

Is akee viable? It is about $10.00 a can and fresh I heard is about $12.00 a pound retail. I have never had it but some of my co-workers go nuts for it.

Picked when ripe near ripe, this tree puts out some tasty fruit. I have islanders at work that love these things. I always wonder way they get such a bad rap, it must be like the Florida grown tomatoes in the store.

Mango mania strikes again! People will do the Kraziest thing for real ripe Florida mangoes. I shipped a mango care package today to relatives in Philadelphia. Get a US Post Office priority mail medium size $12.95 flat rate box (unlimited weight allowed) and mail it out on a Monday///// possibly Tuesday if going to a closer destination in the USofA.
I will start my "care packages" soon. Tommy Atkins, pack your bags.

My name is Tom and I think we are all fruitahilocs. I stumbled upon this site a few days ago and I am enjoying it.
I am up to 8 Mango trees Lemon meringue, choc-anon, florigaon, springfel, fairchild, hatcher, tommy atkins and valencia pride.
2 cherries a gruminchama, and (2) Barbados
several Sweet sop green and red
bananas
pomegranate
sour sop
loquat
carambola
macadamia nut
2 orange
3 lychees
and about 25 pineapples
I still have room for a few plants more but can't decide, I also found out I live real close to HMHausman.
