thanks for the info Simon!
yes I think they can handle full sun..mine are in full sun too.
I notice some have red coloration on the leaves, and some do not.
Even the mother plants I have, one is reddish, one is not.
I have a fruit set on the mother plant...so I will be sure to keep the forum posted as it progresses.
I'm jealous! I've had a grafted red jaboticaba in the ground for three years that still hasn't flowered.
Feed them with good fertilizer and water them twice a day
$27.50 EACH?Ouch! https://kauaisugarloaf.com/products/kauai-sugarloaf-pineapple
No. Actually $37.50 each after incorporating the shipping.
Hybrid Jaboticaba start flowering. Plant from seed in year 2013. Thanks to Oscar Jaitt of fruitlover and Mike T.
the bug that carries it is a "Asian Citrus Psyllid"
and just because you have the psilid, doesnt mean you have greening.
i had the bug, but, didnt have greening... in Fla you are probably more likely to get it.

yup for growth phases pre flower and post fruiting. Summer during fruiting not much need for watering with the rains. Man the pump is so on the opposite side of the property lol guess I have a few months to dig before the watering commences lol But makes sense to have it on separate control for the bubbler drip.

There are some low chill blueberries that would work (they can take partial shade).
Great thread! How about non-tropicals?
Alano is super productive, with excellent taste and texture and a long fruiting season. Morena is another excellent fruit, larger in size than Alano but shorter season.
Makok is too small of a fruit with edible flesh ratio on the lower side and due to its smaller size, can be a pain in the butt to eat ( yes, i know the skin is edible but i have no interest in eating sapodilla skin).
