I have probably eaten 1000's of achachas and if that is the best fruit the guy on the clip has never tried then his palate needs attention. Better than pulasan, mangosteen, durian, banana, pineapple, passionfruit, watermelon. .....a resounding no.
Nice video Jared!!!
Thanks for sharing
And thanks for the shout out!!!
Annonas and garcinias at the top of the list!!! I agree with your findings!!
Interesting while atemoya is clearly better than other Annonas and he prefers rambutan to lychees and longans having achachas as his number 1 is contraversial.

Good luck in Iowa! You might find some pawpaws. Look for woods and creeks, especially where forests border fields/clearings...look along this interface.
That's about all I can offer.
If you make it to Nashville any time, please let me know! I'd love to go Pawpaw and Maypop hunting with you.
EDIT: I would add that you may not find any ripe pawpaws in mid-September. Especially being a cooler zone, they may ripen even later in Iowa if you can find them.
Great video.
Regarding number 6 though, it wasn't too clear if you thought they were the same species.
Nice video of Jared making all kinds of terrible faces. Congratulations! You managed to offend 3 different cultures in one short video:
Durian: much of Asia's #1 favorite fruit
Chempadek: highly revered, especially in Malaysia
Ume: highly thought of in Japan
FYI noni fruit was never eaten by Polynesians, except perhaps as a starvation food. Mostly it was the other parts of the plant that were used medicinally: roots, leaves, bark. It was actually Europeans that started touting noni fruit as anti cancer.
Don't consider chewing betel eating a fruit! Especially what you were eating, which was combination of betel seed, betel leaf, and lime powder.
I have surprisingly only really gotten serious complaints about the cempedak review. Durian and Ume lovers maybe are more used to hearing some resistance?
Thanks Kared, you made my day. I really LMAO!!!!!
There are some Cordias that I am sure you will love, the problem is, these will glue you lips and tongue and you will be not able to finish the video LOL
Cheers
Carlos

Awesome video!
Except… I have to disagree on the noni.
I love noni …
Tastes like a combination of two of my favorite things - bananas and stinky French cheese!
(I have about a dozen noni plants in my greenhouse in Idaho right now)
Carolyn
Jared,
delete the 's' in 'https' in your link, so it says 'http'....and your video will appear embedded in the thread.
Awesome video!
Always enjoy watching them, though I do like myself a good Chempedak and the Betel piper leaf is bitter but not nearly as bad as fresh Kratam! God Thats a foul tasting plant!

Good job, Jared. Congrats on making it to 100. Love your videos ... straight forward, and not flashy ... which make them easy to watch.I loved your videos from the Philippines, one thing though, you can eat the outer shell of the Santol ... just peel the skin off.
Jared, your videos are great and very informative. I suggest having an index to all your videos on this forum. It's what this forum is all about: informing people about tropical fruits. Keep up the good work.

I binge watched this weekend after you linked it
Great stuff well done I love watching someone actually eating a fruit Im interested in!
Also really cool you give fruits second and even third chances when its not too your taste
Hi Jared, I second Vernmented's thoughts. I have been a big fan for quite a while. Keep up the great work. Best regards, Chris
P.S Someone should do a compilation of your "tasting" face...I would like to see the variation (or lack thereof). Thanks

. I'm definitely hitting Baguio as a short stop on the way further North. I'll mark down the botanic gardens on my list. I hear the main market at Baguio is great, anything in particular I should be looking for?
