Yes for shure! It's hardy like feijoa. On maximum it will loose the leaves but they will grow fast on spring and give a lot of fruits.And i forgot it's very hardy. My tree resisted totally to my worst winter temp of -6.5C!

The fruit doesnt gives to the touch and I think it is ripe, so it really seems harder than the strawberry guava and maybe less perisheable.Hello my friend. Yes, this one is much less perisheable. And the flavour is very good. I like to eat them when they fall from the tree or they fall on my hand when they are very red.

Buy online from www.harriscitrus.com. Dekopon is also known as Shiraniu in Florida.

If you guys from California ... why don't you just order budwoods from ccpp then graft on a rootstocks that you can get from homedepot or lowest. I did t-bud grafted on c35 rootstocks last yr end of march. With less than a year look like a normal citrus tree and starting flowers few days agoHere in Europe we don't have dekopon or valentive pomelo trees for sale. The only way is to get from seeds...
If you guys want to plant from seed then good luck for the next 5-7 yrs and might not come true from seed

As usual, in this time of the year i look for the new planting for my garden. Avocado is my objective now.
As much i have been searching in Europe, i haven't been able to find a genuine Mexicola avocado. Part of the problem is that for some mistake, in Europe "Mexicola" is used as the generic name of mexican race avocado, so I get several nurseries that sell mexicola avocados but often they reveals themselves to be just seed grown mexican race avocados. But i want a true, grafted, mexicola avocado.
So, it there anyone here knowing about a nursery selling the true grafted Mexicola avocado, and willing to ship oversea with the necessary documentation?
It's a long shot, i know, but for real, i have been searching for that plant for the last 6-8 years.

About how long the flowering last, I'm not sure, but I now that both flowering and fruiting are not uniform, and you can have sometimes flowers, small fruits, and almost ripe fruits at the same time, wich means you can never harvest all the fruit at once, sometimes even in the same raceme.
About shelf life I have no idea as I always eat them directly from the tree, and never tried to save some to see how long do they last.
Yes, they are eatable, but not the best fruit I ever eat in my life! If properly ripe, they are a bit sweet, lightly crisp, and a bit adstringent.
About the flower smell, I've never notice a bad smell coming from it, but I also never put my nose close to it.

I can vouch for life on an island with a couple hundred thousand people
But on the other hand, being insulated from the rest of the world is rather comforting. The atmosphere is more laid back. Global geopolitics becomes more of a spectator sport. Contrarily, you feel you have more influence on things when the population is low and isolated because it's easier to get to know other people - politicians, business leaders, artists, whoever. If you find life too stressful in Denmark, "remote island life" might be more your thing.
