White Guabiroba - Campomanesia adamantium, very rare

Berto, I agree in general with you but not 100%. The best time to go for fruits in the Amazon is the end of the year.  Brazil is a continental country, and yes, there is some mountains areas wih very cold weather in the South, but that is over 1000 miles from Rio, that even being in the Southest, is 100% ultratropical at sea level!

Not a good season we are in the middle of fall here. And you need where to look, if not you will not find anything.  Last week for example I got 1 giant red cacao fruit (over 1 kg!) in a specialt fruit store, but nornally there are none, not even the common ones.  I have only cacao fruiting now I guess lol.

I gave seeds of Inca Peanut to Bill Williams, an this was the last plant he sowed and got fruiting. I remeber his happy face showing me the vines with fruits!!

I grow it here in Rio, and I love the plant!!

Blepharocalyx salicifolius -  Great tree for temperate to tropical climates. Fruits used mostly to color and flavor alcohol beverages. Leaves make a delicious tea.  A bird magnet tree.

LOL. believe me there is no point in Florida with as much rain as here. Rio Bonito is the place with more rain in the whole Rio de Janeiro State, that is not precisely a dry area :)

I dont know named varieties, but these one at Home depot will probably taste as you can expect in Home depot, mines are DELICIOUS.  I am just eating them like regular cherries (with skin inclusive). No bad after taste at all.
