Beautiful yard Zands, I bet those trees are pretty large now. Your yard is very green and lush, mine has weeds growing everywhere. Time to motivate and clean up my yard:)

I received 2000 cubic yards of ground debris.

Starting to spread it between mangoes.
Zand,Credit goes to the rain we get here. Your location gets 20.4 inch yearly and we get double or more. Landscaping crewing are busy year round cutting back hedges, bushes, lawns and more. I have all of those that need some serious trimming except my lawn which is ship shape.
either you have a super green thumb or the weather is on your side.
I took the top off eventually and cut the tree to a stump about 2 feet tall.
Its started to grow back out (in a tiny bush).
Should I select a few strong shoots and cut off the rest (thin it out) or should I let the tree self select?
Also, see the picture below. Some of the leafs are curling at the end. What could this be and should I do anything.
But that said, I don't think you really need to replace your Peach Cobbler, Zands. Sure it's great, but how many wonderful mango trees does one family really need?
Excel knife that takes the Schick injector blades https://www.amazon.com/excel-knife/s?ie=UTF8&page=1&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Aexcel%20knife I bought mine at ebay
Hi Zands,
There are two types of hobby knife collet chucks, 1/4" and 3/8". The shlick blades are 8mm, and appear will only fit in 3/8" collet. The standard hobby knife that I have is 1/4" collet (I have 2 or 3). So which model has a 3/8" collet?
Seems like this is the only one that calls out the sizes:

I may have to go with this one....
Rehashing this topic. I ended up with the schick injector pack and somehow mistook that they were scalpel blade compatible.
Reading back through there is mention of knives that are no longer available. The schick blades are much taller than hobby knife blades and won't fit in a standard hobby knife blade holder. The collet has to be pretty wide (almost 8mm). I cannot figure out which xacto hobby knife can accommodate these blades. Does anyone have an xacto knife part number?
The one Carlos uses in the video is super thick.

Federal money has paid for (financed) so many stupid and unused bicycle lanes where I live so anything is possibleHey, ya never know. People might get smart someday, and start riding bicycles! There are a few of us in my neighborhood who do.
It does improve quality of life.
My peach cobbler was stolen. I planted a three gallon peach cobbler and two weeks later I went to take a look but it was dug out and gone. Was planted 14ft from the road. Most baffling theft on my property. For sure the scum that took it was not able to grow it properly so it died. Rob gave it infinite praise so this is why I bought one, a good specimen from Bender's Grove.
That just sucks. I hate thieves and the only way I'd grow in most neighborhoods is behind a secured fence with perhaps a pet rottweiler or pit bull. We're still old school here where many still don't lock their doors and most respect other's property.
BTW, didn't we have this "what in the hell are you doing planting outside in the open?" conversation either by email or posts?
got more fresh ones from the ground a few left on the tree this seems to be a perfect commercial mango from Socal
It's one thing when they pick fruit you waited for years to try
But getting the whole tree makes you start all over
Landscapers with shovels on hand most likely suspects.
Plant another ahead of the rain and I hope you have better luck
Thanks. My Kathy seems like it does not want to grow at all but my Coconut Cream is doing great and the Pina Colada. I pugged my Peach Cobbler but deers kept eating it and eventually it died of stress. Question should I get rid of my Kathy that is ground planted and put my LZ in it’s place. My LZ is in a 35 Gal container.
Mahachinok a workhorse. I have about 10-12 left in the tree which start ripening in late July to November. I highly recommend this variety to socal growers for its fine quality and extended season.Good looking fruits and a great yield from your tree(s)! Mahachinok is a ramped up Nam Doc Mai? So it seems.
Has anyone tried to grow krachai dum or Thai black ginger Kaempferia parviflora
Or anyone used it? It's said to significantly increase hand grip strength and enhance sexual stimuli.
The flesh around the skin is my favorite part. It tastes like it has the most flavor components, turpenes I suppose. If you get too close to the skin, there can be some sort of natural component in the skin that tickles the back of my throat and makes me want to cough.
The good thing about these flavor grenade type mangos is that a little bit goes a long way and in the case of Sweet Tart, the fruit grows in clusters and are often relatively small. The Sweet Tart variety can even hold a decent amount of fruit in a pot although it will need judicious pruning.
People that have a basement, balcony or small patio can grow this variety and the small mangos will go a long ways in terms of not needing a lot of flesh to be satisfied.

Nice to see Carrie mango so well represented. When I eat one I say to myself that it is as good as any new Zill such as LZ and ST. I would be happy to eat Carrie all mango season if there were such a Carrie tree. (no there is not)
I'm a big Carrie fan also. I have a Carrie mango tree and I've just grafted some Carrie budwood onto one of my Glenn branches to have two varieties on one tree.
You ought to see what the Dutch are doing! Get the latest Nat. Geographic. You won't believe the ultra high tech stuff and huge production.
