dear Mike T,i totaly agree with uin what u said about jack fruit and chempedek,u even know about our Western Ghats....its amazing...this coconut jack is from my own farm land...i ve one tree of it...

COCONUT JACK IS NOT LIKE CHEMPEDEK, THERE IS NO CHEPEDEK TREE IN MY LAND SO NO CHANCE OF CROSS POLLINATION WITH COMON JACK,ITS ANOTHER VARIETY...IN SOME AREAS PEOPLE CALL IT LOTUS JACK...I VE ADDED ANOTHER PIC TOO,OF AN UNMATURED FRUIT...

DEAR MICAH ,glad to see u here...salacia fruiticosa has a combined characteristics of a bush and a vine....it can climb on other tree,can also stay single...fruits are small ,sweet and attractive too,pulp surrounded to seed is sweet,its a fast growing and quick fruiting plant..its a herb too,its root is used for some treatments...this species is only available in some parts of India ,especially In Kerala...

This coconut jack is not like DURIAN ,in fact this dosent have any bad smell,it has the size of a coconut so the name..

Some seeds of extremely rare species of India are available for exchange with other seeds...,seeds available are Wild jack
(Artocarpus hirsutus),Jamun (Syzigium cumunii) ,Korandy( salacia fruticosa ),Coconut jack fruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus:different than normal jack fruit,smaller in size), Vetty ( Aporasa Lindleyana) etc...ALSO ADDED Syzygium caryophyllatum & kokum (garcenia indica)
