This rare plant look like a ziziphus...but seed is round and big (watch last photo)



Fruits are yellow similar to these, bigger than these, very acid, few pulp

In venezuela we called just "MAMEY" to this fruit:





Sometimes it grows like a melon size!

Mammea americana is from GUTTIFERAE (Clusiaceae) family

And we called "ZAPOTE" to this fruit: Pouteria Zapota, sym: achras zapota, calocarpum mammosum,calocarpum sapotum, pouteria mammosa.

Sometimes, people get confused with this fruit, which also is named Zapote, or Andean Zapote (Zapote Andino), colombian Zapote (zapote colombiano).. we not called "Chupa-chupa" (suck- suck) jajaja that`s a funny name!!
