For your banana planting hole, make sure that water does not stagnate around the tree because it will make wither your banana tree.
Give a little dolomite at planting medium to neutralize the soil pH that is too acidic.

Pometia pinnata is called leungsir, ihi mendek, tawan and kayu sapi in Indonesia.

http://www.worldagroforestry.org/treedb/AFTPDFS/Pometia_pinnata.pdf

I am also looking for this seed.

Roy

Yes Roy, you right.
But here the fruit is known as matoa.
At the moment I do not have the seeds.
I've searched everywhere but i can't find it because the fruiting season has come to an end.
Actually Pometia pinnata can bear fruit continuously without knowing the season if given sufficient fertilizer and irrigation, but people here do not care for their Matoa tree.

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Re: looking for Durio Graveolens seeds
« on: December 18, 2013, 09:21:47 AM »
Hi Radoslav,
Durio graviolens usually has a yellow color, but indeed there is a blood red color.
It most commonly found in Borneo, they call it pompaan or empak-empak.
Unfortunately after i'm searching for information, currently is not a fruitful season.

I would guess they are regular mangos (indica). Yes there are mangos shaped that way, but can't tell you what cultivar they are.
I found this Mangifera tree in my neighbour garden who were on the side of the road.
Peoples also says this is Mangifera indica.
When I asked cultivars of these fruit, they don't know.

Hi and welcome, Maryoto!

I don't have an answer for your question, but perhaps another smarter
mango grower than I will!

I just think it's so cool you've joined us from, what looks like, a small island
in Indonesia.  Have you posted pictures of your yard/farm yet?  I'd love to
see your setup.....

Thanks, Gary from the U.S.
Hi Gary,
I joined this forum because I think this forum is remarkable because these forums bring together people from different countries,of which have the intention to do business or intend to discussions about the plant and they have the same hobbies that is gardening.
Well,i don't have a farm but I have a garden that is not extensive filled with teak and silk tree, there is also a tree of durian, cacao and rambutan.
I do not have a picture at this time, maybe next time.
Thank you.

Wow, if see you've really stepped up your game Maryoto, those seeds are tempting, I am interested in the M. laurina.
Thanks
This species has potential as genetic resources to glorify the types of mango, this mango resistant to anthracnose disease(Colletotrichum gloeosporioides).

Maryoto the species you offer are also common in Australia and HIfarm offers excellent advice on what is likely to be popular. Rare and good quality species and varieties that are native to Indonesia would interest people greatly.
Okay mike,
Thank you for your suggestion, I will look for the seeds of rare plants.

568
The fruit is more commonly found in Borneo and it's hard to find it.
But if you are interested with Mangifera odorata Griffith maybe I can get it.

I think you'd find good interest in most Artocarpus (less so for breadfruit & jackfruit as they are pretty common), durian, some of the less common Baccaurea, kepel, salak, garcinia, mangifera (other than indica) etc.  I think you will find interest may be higher for indigenous species - if it has been introduced there, it has probably been introduced many places and may not be that hard to find.  If you can provide more information about the fruit (for example, special qualities:  sweeter than typical, a different color than typical, a better flesh to seed ratio than typical, etc) it may also make it more interesting to people and they might be inclined to try it even if they already have the species.

John
Okay John,
Thank you for your suggestions.
The information you provide is very useful for me.

Hi Maryoto, there are both monoecious and dioecious plants of rambutan, meaning some are hermaphrodite and some are just male or female. Propagating them from seed is more likely to result in a male plant though, so yeah its better to have two.

And boukmn, I use miracle gro fertilizer (the blue one) with a couple drops of super thrive about once a month.
Well, then my rambutan plant is hermaphrodite.

Maryoto, I also wanted to know if you have access to Artocarpus tamaran, I have been looking for it for about a year now.
Hi,
I only have a Artocarpus altilis and Artocarpus heterophyllus in my grandfather garden, tomorrow I will see if it's fruitful.
For other Annona species,it is the endemic plants of the Borneo island, and I live on the island of Java.
But I will try to contact my brother who works in the Borneo island,Maybe he can find the seeds of the plant for me.

Hi,
I'm from Indonesia, it looks like rambutan don't need male and female for pollination.
But to be sure, may be able to maintain two trees.
Give compost on rambutan crops, the plants love it.
Rambutan plants will thrive in soil that has a neutral PH.
Rambutans in front of my house is already in bloom, maybe I'll take the picture tomorrow.
