Thanks MangoDog and CoPlantNut

I'm going to leave it in the 15 gallon. What do you do to keep the birds away?

Nullzero

I sent you an e-mail.  Let my know if you got it...  I'm still getting used to this forum and I have nothing in my "sent" folder...

Greg

I got it, you suggested to wait for the order until May? I send a response saying it would late april would be a good time to order. We have enough for the order now, just need to get everyone ready to go in April.

Null

I need them by the first week of May because I've hired the master grafter from Mimosa to come to my house and do a topgraft on to my Manila. I will do a video and post it on this forum. He has a 90% take rate on mangos so I will have him graft 4 or 5 varieties on to my Manila.

Turf Pro Usa!!!
Organic and amazing product!

I use it all the time, with very little actual fertilizer put down on roots!

GOOD LUCK!

I hear the owner of the company turf pro, drinks the product to prove its safe... :P :) ;D

Adam

I talked to a company rep last week and I ordered a gallon of Turf and Garden Pro and of MegaGreen. What can you tell me about MegaGreen? How often do you apply these products?

I stop fertilizing my chirimoyas they grow way too fast. However, I water them everyday when they are flowering.

JF

These might be dumb questions,
do you fertilize?  sprinkler watered or deep soak? full sun?

I treat mine like my citrus using organic granules and soaking about once a week, tons of sun.  My Vernon is covered in bloom spikes and many of my 'new' grafts on it are pushing blooms too.

-Ethan

I will switch to organic granule and water often.
Thanks Ethan

Hi Ethan

I have a Suebelle that has not flower this year and last year it did not set any fruits. The tree is super healthy it is now over 12 feet but for some reason it has not flower. Do you have any suggestions?

My favorite mandarin. It produces sweet seedless fruits in Southern California. I have a nice little tree that has been in the ground for a year and it has 20 mandarins.

Hi Harry

The word Latino is widely misused by some folks in this country as well as the Spanish speaking media. Although it's true that Spanish is a Latin based language, English shares many Latin roots words with Spanish.English and other European language use the Latin alphabet, does that make them Latinos? Another poster implied that we are Latinos because of the term Latin America. Do the English,French and Portuguese speaking coutries in Latin America consider themselves Latinos? Ok that's enough, now it's time to talk about tropical fruit growing ;)

I would not even put Carrie and Glenn in the same sentence with Pickering.  There is no comparison, Carrie and Glenn being nothing like a Pickering.  The taste of Carrie is sweet/tangy, Pickering is pure sweetness.  Carrie is sift textured and when very ripe, turning mushy.  Pickering is firmer and gets creamier as it ripens.  Pickering has a coconut characteristic taste-wise, Carrie, blah.  Glenn, has that same sweet/tangy character with a peachy component and a little better texture.

Rob

After reading your definition I'm going to let my little Pickering fruit this year. The risk seems worth it.

For some reason, I get the feeling that none of the dudes really didn't cared about Lara's presentation ;D , Harry  most Hispanic ( I don't like the word Latin we are not from Latium) variety shows or soaps are cheap imitation of American shows so they have to get their audience to focus on something else ;)

Hello Friends,
Thanks for all the nice compliments! The trees are really enjoying themselves in the greenhouse along with my Alphonso, Lemon Zest, & Coconut Cream, all of which are flowering heavily.

Greg - I got my mangos trees from Tropic **** in Florida. The owner's name is Te**** and she is really great. They have a large variety to choose from. I don't have their number on hand, but Google them to find it.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Ants! Damn Ants!
« on: January 28, 2012, 10:52:56 PM »
Liquid dishwashing soap kills ants on contact. Use one teaspoon per handheld sprayers. You could combine with foliar fertilizer and fertilize your tree while getting rid of the ants.
Oscar

Oscar,

I've seen ants in FL live through much worse than just soap...have sprayed them with neem and soap, and they lived....I mix my chemicals heavy to!  I gave up on neem..you have to apply it so religiously, and it doesn't kill stuff like I want it to!

You didn't use heavy enough concentration of soap! Neem doesn't kill any insect. It only messes up their reproductive cycle.
Oscar

Hey, good tip guys! I'll try both in summer time.

[Absolutely true. Later citrus is more sweet than early citrus. Indian River is a better place for prime citrus than South Florida. California citrus pales in comparison:( At least the Cali citrus that gets deported to the East Coast maybe the good ones are kept at home......

I don't see how that can be....
