Adam --- here are some pics of my grafted Grimal Jabo (M. spirito santensis) I got from you in June.

What should I be doing with it at this point?

Fert, sun, water, ammendments, soil mix for repot and pot size????

Also I’m not sure if I removed all of the grafting tape after first new flush.  Check it out.

Visited Squam yesterday at his farm in Loxahatchee.  Saw some fruit trees and bought some mangos.

Sort of a mini Fairchild experience with no entry fee lol --- and they are all mine! Mine Mine Mine!!!  Bwahaaaaaaaaaa!  :D ;)

The only one I've had before is Duncan.  I miss my poor little dead Duncan! :'(

Was talking to a friend in Pensecola and he gave me this link for culinary uses for our favorite mango marauder - bushytaileous treerateous.  The etoufee sounds good!

BTW Zands, a few variegated Ae Ae bananas in the front yard would be a better decoration.   Will post soon as my first one has just popped the flower

« on: June 26, 2012, 08:46:11 AM »
Little Rat Bestids ate my first and only 2 Pickering mangos.   The critter tore right thru the screen bag.  One was eaten completely with only the pit remaining.  Second was half eaten.

Their days are numbered!

One way, or another, I’m gonna getcha!
Gonna getcha getcha getcha getcha ……………..

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Store bought mangos that taste good
« on: June 05, 2012, 03:06:04 PM »
Stopped by R & B produce in Port St Lucie last week and spotted green/yellow mangos.  Sign said "Haitian Mangos".  Grabbed 4, went home, ate one right away.  OMG  -  what a full deep rich flavor.  Somewhat fibrous, but I didn't care cause it tasted so good.  The label on each fruit said Francis Mango.  Rememberd a post talking about Madame Frances, the banana mango.  The point is that these guys never saw storage methods that ruin the taste and texture.  Seemed like mangos that came right from a backdoor tree.  Have been back once and will be again till they run out.  Almost forgot about this out of the way mom and pop produce shop.

Here are a few pics of Madame Frances and some real bananas that I just harvested.
