The jam is awesome. I bought some davidson plum and macadamia jam. Yum. Very sour raw though.Yes I will have enough to make some jam this year, I saw some at TFW on the Gold Coast a few months ago and forgot to grab a bottle on the way out.
Is it true that it is dioecious ?
Sure, I'll take some pics as soon as I can, not getting home before dark most days, but the tree looks identical to the red variety. I'm hoping for some flowers this year. I think the seeds originally came from Hawaii.I bought some seeds of a white variety from Hawaii a couple of years ago, the tree is now over 9ft and hasn't fruited yet.

Has anyone ever grew seeds from those fruits to fruiting? Any change in # of years to fruit? If so, how many years? Anyone tried these in a container? Think a 30 gallon/half 55 gallon drum would suffice? Just the size and weight of the fruit make me wonder if fruiting in a container would be more difficult compared to the typical Rollinia or maybe the tree would just require another year or two? Hope I'm not being too noobish but still new to some of this. ThanksI can see seven small fruit on my potted seedling Rollinia right now. This is it's third year from seed, always been in a pot. I'll take a pic if interested. The pot measures 18inches across, I think, will confirm if interested. By the way, all my polyhouse potted plants are in a hydroponic (soil-less) culture.
Those trees look awesome, thanks for sharing! Have either fruited yet? That last one is a reticulata, not diversifolia.

Great to find out it's a quick to mature fruit as well, the interest has gone up a notch or two. My winters can get down to minimums of 40F overnight, the entire vine has just started to flower and it will be interesting to see if they develop or go to mush. Thanks for all your help, there's very little info in cyberspace on this species. BTW, for the interest of others wanting to grow this vine, it's in the curcurbitaceae family, so not even closely related to passionfruit, it got it' name from an explorer who thought it look similar to passionfruit.Do you have melon fruit fly in Australia? It tends to attack cucurbits when the fruits are just starting to form. Not sure if it will attack this fruit, but just something to watch for. You might have to bag it.
