@Citradia: Thanks for the pics, it looks like an easy setup to make. How energy efficient the whole thing was?
My satsuma is blooming right now, too. What kind of protection did you use on the grapefruit tree? What was the minimum temperature recorded? Do you have any pics of your setup? I'm really looking forward to seeing them.
But how on earth can you leave them standing in saucers full of water? Long term, it can lead to suffocation of fine feeder roots, causing severe root damage.
... I'm going to use it either for juice (maybe mixed with other things), for making something else like marmalade, for a rootstock for grafting other things onto, or as food when civilization collapses (assuming my miracle fruit survives too) ...
The best among these uses is as an exceptionally vigorous rootstock! I couldn't get rid of the bugs in the tree. And I didn't like the fruits at all. And I needed room for other more interesting citrus trees!

Luckily my valencia late is full of flower buds, and I needed this as my interest in citrus had reached a serious depth...
