Renee, I agree with everyone else in that you can become a great grafter as well. I'm actually still gaining my sea legs. LOL!  ;) ;D

It's only been a bit over a month since last pics posted, but growth on all multi-rootstock trees have been phenomenal! Some have had 2 flushes of growth!

Sorry it took a while, everyone. Pics as promised:

1) First 4 pics are of a Mallika cleft graft. Total of 2 extra rootstocks. 1 beheaded near soil line, 1 above, with "head" still attached.

So here's an odd question. How come when I click on the photos in this post, postimages' website has ads for porn along with your photo haha

Great idea! I'll have to try both recipes. We recently made jackfruit icecream but it turned out more like vanilla ice cream with jack fruit bits...still very tasty but we forgot the blender step. Will implement it next time round.

Excellent job! I'm jealous. I've only just started to attempt grafting and so far everyone has failed hahaha. Practice makes perfect though. I love the multi-stock grafts as well.
Pancrazio - this is a great site with TONS of info on citrus grafting: http://citrus.forumup.org/

Wow congrats indeed! How large was the plant when you brought it in for the winter? Post up some photos if you have any. Gives me hope of growing my own papaya in a cold climate.

Luke,
I have some other  rare plants not listed!  Come to Florida, rent a small truck and drive back to beautiful Colorado with a load of hard to find plants!   I would trade and sell some plants.  However, I will not ship them.  Unless, the buyer does not mind paying for overnight shipping them in their own pots.  Most  plants are in 2, 3 and 5 gallon pots.

Hello folks,
I am looking for atemoya or cherimoya seedlings to be used as rootstock.  I plan to graft a new cherimoya variety and I will need at least 6 (six) nice, ready to graft seedlings of cherimoya or atemoya
I can trade those seedlings for the following seedlings I have:
1) Cambuca - Plinia Edulis -  more or less 2 years old
2) Blue Grape/False Jaboticaba - Myrciaria Vexator - more or less 2 years old
3) Yellow Giant Brazilian Passion Fruit (2) -  You need two vines for proper pollination and the seedlins are in 3 gallons pots.
4) Fragrant Passion Fruit - Passiflora Alata (2) -  You also need 2 vines for pollination -  They are also in 3 gallon pots
5) Annato/Lipstick Tree - Bixa Orellana - 3 gallon pot
6) Grumixama/Grumichama - Eugenia Brasiliensis - more or less 2 years old
7) Rainforest Plum/Ameixa-da-Mata/ Cambui Roxo - Eugenia Candolleana - more or less 2 years old
8)  Pitangatuba - Eugenia Nitida/Neonitida - more or less 1 year old.
I also have several other rare seedlings that I may use as a trade currency.  I may also sell some of my rare seedling mentioned above.  I am located  in beautiful  Fort Myers, Florida.

Geez Berto, nice intriguing list ya got there!

I'm still waiting for my fruit to ripen up. Poor tree doesn't get the sunlight it should on our covered porch.
I also heard these are good to take cuttings from?

My Big Reds are running a few weeks behind the Greens. They are a variation of the green but have a bit of raspberry flavor to them. They are my favorite of all annonas

Selling+shipping any of these?? I have yet to have the privilege to taste a ripe sugar apple :-)

Thanks for the link! So it's the dwarf guava, not a banana flavored guava. Very Cool! I know COPlantNut has two of these, they are maybe around 2' tall by 2' wide and are loaded with flower buds right now.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Organic luff seeds. Help!!???
« on: July 30, 2012, 11:23:58 AM »
My mom lived in Brazil for couple of year and my mom said, that when she was in Brazil, the markets were full of Bucha/luffa for sale and people use them for washing dishes and also for bathing. which is awesome and eco-friendly, than using sponges for the same purpose.

What I don't agree with, is using bleach to clean and process the luffa to make them ''snow white'' >:( Bleach is such a toxic chemical and using the bleach processed luffa to bath ones self and get this chemical on our body :o No thanks...even if it's for free ;)

I have never grown luffa before :'( but, i have seen a trellis full of Buchas here...I will ask for some seeds and grow some in my orchard :)

Couldn't agree more. Bleaching the sponge just for visual appeal is a waste and unnecessary use of bleach. No thanks! If I had more room to spare I would grow these for sponges! So cool, so resourceful.

Yes I am 100%. It have been identified by the fellows on gardenweb and I have also the mother plant. The fruits looks too the same as a Kadota (I ate some last year). I prefer definetely the desert king fig. How do you plan to meet up?

FedEx or ups 2day is usually good. However I have not shipped anything to Canada in a long time, and I recall last time being very pricey. Let me look into things

I'm in Colorado. The only other fig I have more than 1 of is a black mission. I just did the airlayers about 2 months ago, and then potted them up about a month ago. They are all about 2 feet tall, with buds all just pushing out now. Is this 100% for sure a kadota? I once bought a kadota and it turned out to be a black mission; hence why I have two black mission trees haha. :) I do have extra grumichama seedlings, coffea arabica seedlings, cacao seedlings, j31 jackfruit seedlings if any of those interest you?

Thanks,

-Luke

How large is the plant? What are you looking for in trades. I just air layered a desert king fig

I'm also growing one, started as a small 1gal that was shipped from PIN. It's never looked all that great. Keeps dropping leaves as quick as new ones grow so it's only ever half full. But it do not water it often, maybe this is one I am actually under-watering.
