Giampaolo
Hi Dada, do you have some pics of the annonas? They sound interesting!I have only few fotos!
I received Duguetia marcgraviana seed last year from you some came up .What type climate do they like wet or dry? also seed coming up Duguetia phaseosiades I assume that's more arid climate?
Put me down yara yara seed
[/quHi,
Indeed both species are native to an arid tropical climate. I have seen trees of Duguetia phaseolioides that grew back even after a wildfire has passed.]
Yes I agree. One good cultivar I like from Hawaii is Nishikawa. I havent had Reed so I dont know how it compares to that one!One thing that is not mentioned frequently enough is that avocados increase in richness when left on the tree an extra long time. I discovered this when I tasted some Hass from my tree that was hanging about 18 months. The butter factor was so high, it was like I was eating a Reed or some Hawaiian avocado.Good point. That's why even West Indian avocados grown in Florida taste pretty good when they stay on the tree long enough--Simmonds, Choquette, etc.
Sent you a PM yesterday, did you get it?Yes your package will go out tomorrow!

Hi Dada, we got confirmation the N*2 is NOT an Annonacea. So for sure not a duguetia!Good any idea what family it could belong to?
Heimo Rainer confirmed as well.
All the best,
GiampaoloThanks for the interesting post. Any more info on the Duguetia sp. (image 2)? All the Dugentias I saw online were shaped like the first picture, so that one is intriguing.Yes it is a mystery. The place where I found it has a botanist and he assured me that it is a Duguetia, even so from the fruit and leaves it looks more like a Guatteria. When I get a positive ID of it will post it!

Hi AllI have fresh seeds of Clusia gaudischaud right now!
is there any South American growers from Brazil and or northern countries growing or keeping Clusias by chance?
Very rare species sir Dada! I have a small question regarding "Annona nutans". Its taste is sweet but... (missing something). The tree itself is a dwarf , I was told it does not grow taller than 2 Meters, it likes sandy soil and a more dry climate. Fruits are about Golfball size and have up to 6 seeds inside. It is sweet with a distinct pleasant but not overwhelming flavor!
Is the fruit small and/or having many seeds?
