Dear Citrus-Connaisseurs, what is known about the cold hardiness of Eremocitrus glaucaXMeyer-Lemon? Fruit quality seems to be good and if it could withstand -10° or less it would be a candidate for my citrus project.

Interesting: "Swingle and Reece (1967) additionally noted that: "Citrandarins are much like citranges except that the mandarin orange parent greatly reduces the amount of bitter oil found in droplets inside the pulp-vesicles. In citranges this oil usually makes the fruit too bitter to eat." Thus Citrandarins should be preferred to Citranges?

Thank you Samodelkin, your picture resembels very much my plant. Narrow, serrated leaves and thorny twigs. But there is also a differenve: Mine does not have trifoliate leaves at all. Somtimes bifoliate but no more trifoliate. No poncirin sounds very good. Bitter is not a problem if it tastes good.

Okay, I try to find some pics. The leaves are the size of the ones of finger lime. Narrow (1cm) mostly monofoliate and max 4cm long. I am not quite sure if it war really PTXNin-Kat or maybe PTXSunki. For a long time I thought it was Sunki, but then I found an old note that said: Nin-Kat. I gave a scion to Ilya named "PTXSunki" but I am in doubt now.

in some cases I have made the same observations: crafted C. ichangensis (marked as very hard, crafted on PT) died in its first winter surrounded by C. ichangensis IVIA seedlings that survived. And this winter a PT crafted on PT died because of frost-cracked bark. I need not say that all PT on their roots (even the ones in pots) survived. On the other hand I did not have any problems with scions high crafted on PT. The ones that died were young crafts or crafts just above ground.

I think whatever you find in supermarkets is not worth cultivating. The most sought after Citrus in Europe is Yuzu and Fingerlime also Cedro and Buddha's Hand 

Ilya, are the genes identified that cause bitterness and resin in normal poncirus? If not, would it be possibel to find out if you compared the genome of normal poncirus and swamp lemon? Or do I think too simple? Do you plan to make crosses with swamp lemon?
Questions over questions -sorry. Maybe I am a little too enthusiastic about the possibilities.

Just one question to the experts: One can often read about the fragrance of PT-flowers but I have never come across sweet smelling flowers. What are your experiences? And one more question to the few that know or own Swamp Lemon: How about its flowers?

Great informations, thank you Ilya. Very interesting. What do you know about origin (parentage) of PT? I found a remark that it may be a intergeneric hybrid between some Citrus and something else -but what would be likely? Another statement says it is within Citrus closest to C. reticulata and Fortunella. I collect information for a presentation about cold hardy citrus and citrus origin.

I am bewildered about this statement. How could PT build up a stable and quite homogenous population if there were a lot of zygotic upcome? I recently read in a scientific report that PT is likely to be an intergeneric hybrid not a genus of its own. That is why I assumed apomixis was the reason of its stability. Maybe I am totally wrong.
