Ed,

I would leave the lemon, probably a Meyers.  Very popular in this area.  I am just north of you and highly recommend that any mangos grown be kept in containers.  I hand truck mine into garage on cold nights.

I knew he wasn't God--even though many mango growers would beg to differ!)

Careful, John. I'm gathering firewood and a stake................

I agree, careful John.  Never spent anytime in North Florida or South Georgia?

Does Hawaii allow Mango preserves or jams to be shipped in?

It appears to be a Saigon seedling named after Dr. John Dupuis.  "Dupuis Saigon" works for me.  Mangos can have first and last names too.  :)

Looks smaller than a Duncan, but clusters like one.

What would you know about a Duncan mango? ;D lol..

Your little tree is coming along real nice in the grove. You will have to have Angie show it to you if you stop by.

Glad to hear the tree is happy on MI.  Yes, will be stopping by!

A report I read from the 50's mentioned that clovers didn't do well in Dade County, but Alyce Clover and Hairy Indigo were both talked about as possibilities.  I am looking to do the same thing here in Palm Beach County.  Will let you know what I come up with.

On my honeymoon, I always looked for Honeymoon Salad.    Lettuce alone 😍

Drooling just thinking about Edwards, Duncan's, and hopefully some PPK when I get down there in the next few weeks.  Is this Edward Simmonds guy the same whom the avocado cultivar is named for?

Yes, same guy.  Head of the USDA Plant Introduction Station in Miami early 1900's.

When do you think the Duncan's will be ready?

92
I was going to join but sure sounds like a group not to become involved with.  And to think I was going to make a two hour drive to get there at 8 am this morning.

I suspect that the fruit was so big that it fell on and killed the poor donkey while he was grazing under the tree.  ;)

Can use the dried up seeds and husks as mulch, works great.

Thanks Jeff  I will try the butter/oyster knife after drying out.  Maybe then I can figure out which is the easier side to open.  No problem with most other cultivars, just these turps.  I like the idea of a community container.  Do you gently dig up each rootstock when ready to graft, or keep all graftlings together in the same container?

Jack
