Hi Coconut,

The fruit looks great...YUMMY.  It's there any chance that you would offer the seeds to this forum members?
I would like to have some if you do.  Thanks!

Great collections. Does your foti vine have flowers...seeds yet?  I read that it would have flowers in September and then the seeds in November.  If you have and offer the seeds, I would be interested.  Thanks!

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Pruning Cherimoyas/Atemoyas
« on: October 01, 2014, 11:56:30 PM »
I pruned mine when they got out of control after they set first round of fruits and stopped flowering. So, I pruned the tree back to the size I want, and then defoaliated the leaves from branches that had no fruit. Now those branches are loaded with new flowers and setting fruit again.

In Southern California, I prune mine once in March at leaf drop and once in August/mid Sep. Defoliating gets me 2nd crop for late season that runs thru end of March/mid April.
This is interesting, does this work for other kinds of fruit trees besides Cherimoyas/Atemoyas? Thanks for sharing!

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Re: Looking for Goji Berry Cuttings

I really don't have any plant to trade as what I have is so limited.  I was hoping to buy about 10 goji berry cuttings of approximately 6-8 inches long.  Thanks!

Here's my grafted Tai wu yuen longan

Up close shot

I only tried one piece so far. It was not as sweet as my other longans. The skin seems thicker and has larger seed, but it still has decent seed to flesh ratio. Im leaving it on longer to see if it can get bigger. Flesh was pretty crunchy with some mild sweet juice.

Unfortunately, my fuk yan didn't make it to maturity. My mom cut it off too soon. It was big and brown just like the tai wu yuen longans. I noticed with these  two varieties, they turn brown at a very early stage. So gotta be careful when to pick. Notice in the first picture, the longans in the background is green and smaller.

My Bad, I didn't mean to edit(only to Quote), I did click on the quote button, but it appear this way.  Sorry, I am a Newbie after all.  Those longans looks great.  I harvested about half of my longans because the squirrel has been eating them on average of 6 a day.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Annona germination

This was how I germinated my cherimoya seeds.  I cut a little opening at the tip of the seeds, put them in willow tea(natural rooting hormone) for about a week until I see the seeds expanded and white root to start forming.  I planted them individually in pot with peat moss and sandy soil mix.  I did this in May, 2014, and now they are about 2-2.5 ft tall with huge leaves.  I do wish to try other kind of seeds such as sugar apple, etc. in the future when I get them.

Basically you need a permit for everything you import. There's a list on their website of stuff they want to keep out. They're generally invasive species, roots, and things whose pests might endanger local agriculture like grapes and citrus.

There's no specific whitelist of things they allow. There's a thread here about getting the small lots of seeds permit.
For plants there is often a 2 year post-entry quarantine period before you're allowed to plant it in the ground. The permit is harder to get than for seeds too. Inspectors will come see if your quarantine site is suitable before issuing you the permit.

To my understanding, your message is referring to imported seeds/seedlings. Do I need permit, etc. if I buy any kind of seeds/seedlings in the continental U.S.(from USA sellers)? Thanks!

Please consider that A. Muricata extract has not been proven to reduce cancer in any human trails. It contain s annonaicin which is known to promote nueral death and cause Type A parkinson's disease.

Thanks for pointing it out, but I am very well aware of that.  I read/heard many, many stories true or not that the soursop tea did cure some patients' cancers, and yet everyone's different in terms of their reactions to the tea.

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Newbie need advice
« on: August 01, 2014, 12:32:51 AM »
Hi Everyone,

Since I search in this forum for advice/suggestion for Newbie regarding USDA list of seeds/seedlings permissable(required permit or not scenerio) to buy/sell and came up empty.  Therefore, to my benefit and future Newbies, I want to ask all of you for some expert advice/experience.  Thank you so much!

Thanks Guys for all these informations.  For now, the natural Soursop tea is the way to go.

Thanks to reply to my post, I only heard of Soursop and Mangosteen.  The other two items that you mentioned, what are they?  Please tell me what is the brand/capsules that you took yearly and where do I buy it.  Thanks again!

Hi Everyone,

I am looking for fresh young 200 - 300 Soursop leaves.  PM me if you happen to have a big Soursop tree in your own backyard.  I would like to buy some of those leaves to make tea. Thanks!
