I planted around 12 varieties aver the last 2 to 3 years.  This includes a Fairchild first which has several small female fruits emerging last month for the first time. I also planted the sweet Fairchild.

A seedling sold as an ns1 j31 cross by a sale from the MRFC is loaded with fruit.

I have the orange crush variety planted and it's growing like jacks beanstalk with only a few male fruit.  I yanked the tangerine as it looked like Charlie browns Christmas tree.

I gave away my Amber due to its lack of growth.

Growing well but still too small to fruit are Excalibur red, red morning, Bangkok lemon, j30, j31, black gold, and golden nugget.

Hmm, yes, appears to be slow growing.  I planted Providence about the same time, and it's double that in size, BUT no blossoms so far.  Maybe I should have went with Fruit Punch.  Are they similar in flavor, and are their seasons about the same (late mid-seaon)?

Here's my providence planted as a 7 gallon in 2015. Lots of bb sized fruitlets formed.

I'm not sure how big they are but I'm sure the tree will do it's own thinning out process. But if the tree is only a year old I wouldn't let it hold any.

Will there be plants/scions/fruit for sale?

You can get scions by request for any tree. But don't waste their time by asking for ones you can buy at a nursery.

I've heard that it has powerful anti cancer properties. I'm sure a Google search will yield lots of results.  But a largely frutarian diet in general without meat or dairy will prevent many chronic diseases that ail most people.

The Fairchild Festival is likely going to decline significantly in quality with Richard having already left.

It already has. Last year the mangoes for sale were all imported, not counting the auction. It's more of a fundraising weekend than anything for Fairchild.

Zands - I haven't done anything rigorous. One bag of mulch per year. Some 8/3/9 a couple times per year, spring and summer plus chelated minors once per year.   Mostly I leave them alone.  I follow Richard Campbells advice on tipping to get the trees bushier.

Honorable mention to Honey Kiss - 2 years old. Good clean fruit set early and more flowers pushing.

Rosigold is a consistent heavy early producer and a good mango. The other tree in my yard with a heavy early crop this year is rapoza.

My trees are only in their 3rd year. The Rosigold gave me about 30 mangoes last year and will probably double that this year, setting its fruit about a month ago and is now having a second bloom.

The rapoza gave me 5 mangoes last year that were very good. It's got a much heavier fruit set this year probably around 40 after drops. It had fruit set about a month ago and now is having a second bloom.

My honey kiss is off to a good start also with good fruit set and now blooming again. It's in its second year.

These 3 trees are way ahead of all others out of 60 varieties.

First let me say that all of my approximately 60 mango varieties are trees 3 years or under.

Rapoza and rosigold have heavy fruit set. Pickering is holding a few but starting to flush again, same for keitt. Honey Kiss had a nice fruit set for the first time and is pushing more blooms now.

Pina colada partially flowered and set some fruit. I hope some will hold. It's starting to push more flowers.

Peach Cobbler, one of the most vigorous trees so far is just ornamental pushing lots of new foliage. I'll give it another year or two.

Most of the rest are showing movement and I'll know soon iwhat kind of year I'll have. I have a handful of trees still dormant. I'll report fully on all trees individually once I have a better idea of fruit set.

In my experience if starting from zero and you want trees that will produce young and reliable give you good amounts of fruit get a Rosigold and Rapoza. The rosigold gave me about 30 fruits last year as a two year old tree and will easily pass that amount this year. Last year the rapoza gave me around 5 fruits. There may be better varieties but the best tree gives you fruit.

I'm fortunate to have the space to plant a good mix so I can wait for the newer varieties to get productive.

I have the champion juicer where you use a solid blank part instead of the screen and the pre frozen fruit is ejected through the pulp pulp ejection hole. Very fast and works good with pre frozen fruit. I don't use it for juicing as there are better juicers for that need.  It will do a sorbet in a minute or two. Cleanup is very quick with just some hot water.
