Thank you!  I am very excited about this cherimoya experiment.  I hope to grow cherimoya and fruit them here in South Florida.  My understanding is that at one time there was a variety of cherimoya that produced very well in South Florida.  According to this reliable source, this cherimoya variety got "lost".  Any takes on this cherimoya story??

Viva!
I really like them.  They bring me good childhood memories.  I used to feast of them next door to my house in Northeast Brasil. I grow five (5) caulifloras; one (1) coronata; and one (1) glazioviana here in Fort Myers.  I am also trying to germinate some seeds of myrciaria trunciflora; myrciaria aureana; and some seeds of plinia rivularis.  I have never tried to graft jabuticabas, but this week I spoke with Julian Lara in Miami and he said that his nursery sells grafted jabuticabas.  If you guys want Julian's info, just send me a messsage or email.

I used to have 8 coconut palms.  They produced enough coconuts for the entire city of Fort Myers.  I cut 5 of them down to use the space for other fruit trees.  Now, I still have 2 dwarf green and 1 dwarf yellow.  That's plenty of coconuts still.  They produce a lot.  Some people here in the US get confused with coconut water and coconut milk.  The water is a clear liquid from a young unripe nut.  The milk is extracted from the white meat of a ripe nut.  I hope I am not offending any of you with this comment!

I do not use a heat mat.  Instead, I use my garage water heater as a source of heat.  I place my seeds inside ziplock bags with wet paper towels.   It works great!

Noel,
In Northeast Brazil, we make ice cubes with coconut water and then, we add some scotch. Yummy!

Nullzero and Tim,
Thank you so much for your postings.  Nullzero, sorry about our possible trade.  Tim, I appreciate your offering, but I will need the seedlings ready in a few weeks.  I just contacted a source in Miami and I may be able to find some root stock there.

Noel,
Thank you so much!  They are beautiful! Fantastic fruits!  I will plant my Amazon Giant seedling in March. Currenly, I got a couple flowers on my seedling. The 15 gallon pot is inside my plastic greenhouse, and  I keep the minimum temp. around 60 F.

I am glad I found Noel in this forum. I have a biriba (rollinia deliciosa) seedling that came from Noel's tree.  My seedling is almost 5 feet tall and is already flowering in a large pot.  Noel how big the fruit gets?.  Is your biriba a variety called Humongous?  I appreciate any input from you!  Thank you!

My name is Berto and I have a small collection of rare fruit trees in Fort Myers, Florida.  I grew up in tropical Brazil and I enjoy growing and eating tropical and subtropical fruits.
