I thought it looks like a Meyer lemon when the fruits got that large, but I would like to know for sure. Does anybody here have a Mexican Lime?

This little tree had a name tag 'Mexican lime' when I got it. It's very productive and the fruits are big and turn yellow. Does it look like 'Mexican lime' to you guys?

Thanks, musebox! Mine are not gonna make it.  :( So, if yours survive and you have extra, I would be happy to get one from you. About the red Malaysian... Logees nursery has one but they call it Psidium guajava purpurea. I wonder if it's the same guava. The steam and leaves are purple and the flowers are pink but I don't know about the fruit. Also, it is quite expensive for a little 4" plant.  :o

Some nurseries using this (Tinsel?) to keep the soil moist. It's white in color and people from Russia would call it white rain.
Here is the picture of how it looks.

Clifton's Nursery had them for sale online but out of stock now. I found mine on eBay last spring (cheaper too).

I refrigerate kiwis. I've been doing this for a couple of years now. I love Gold kiwis and we get them at Sam's club here, not a year around, though. I get 4-6 boxes and store them in a refrigerator for a couple of months and they don't get bad as I would keep them in the room temps. Usually, they are not completely ripe and I leave a box or two on a counter for a few days and eat them when they start to get wrinkles.

163
Yes, Rob, I have found some and I think they are fully developed. Will see how they sprout.  I will report here then.

164
Do they come true from seeds? I planted some. They are so tiny that I am not sure if they will even sprout at all.

Nice pics Laaz. Thank you for posting. What about a productivity and cold sensitivity? Also, the skin? The skin on mine peeled very easy like on Dekopon or Pomelo and actually the fruit reminded more Pomelo than grapefruit to me.

You may be growing something else. I have two Navel trees and the oranges have the navels. Though, one of them was supposed to be a Red navel but happend to be something else. At least, the taste is very good and more sweet then the other Navel I have.

Citrus General Discussion / Re: Sumo Sweet Lemon
« on: December 22, 2016, 12:25:56 AM »
I know very little about this citrus. Bought it at the nursery a couple of years ago as a little rooted branch. The woman that sold it to me told me it's very sweet lemon. I didn't actually believed her but since I was into citrus already gave it a try.  :D And I am glad I did. In the picture with three fruits one in the middle is a Shiranui just to show the size of the lemons and the shape is similar too.

Looks very similar to a Sanbokan. My Sanbokan produce excellent sweet fruit.
Laaz, after some research on the internet I believe it is Sunbokan but also called Sumo (Sambo?) and the tag on my tree said 'Sumo sweet'. Do you have a picture of your tree you could show us? Is it in the ground?

Sambo Sweet Lemon ( 'Sumo' on the tag) now is one of my favorite citrus trees. The tag was messed up as usual.

Galka,

that is a crazy looking pitanga...i believe it was one of the smooth type...

i planted a bunch of seeds, and that one turned out to be the runt...

it seriously stayed less than 4 inch tall for about 2yr...or maybe longer...

then I gave it to you, because it wasn't dead yet, and it didn't look horrible...lol I like to give weird plants to customers, as a gift as they're leaving sometimes...If i kept it...it probably would have died....

i hope u get some fruit set soon, and it taste pretty good...

keep us posted.

(BTW cool variegated plant Tropicaliste!)

Yes, thank you.  :) It's been with me for a year and a half and looks almost the same. Super bonsai pitanga. ;D I'll keep you posted.
