As explained in my previous post, it's Rio Red.  There is no such cultivar called "Texas Sweet".
I was in a hurry and got all these names mixed up, sorry. I should have say Rio Star or Ruby Sweet instead of Rio Red or Texas Sweet.
mrtexas, thanks for the info and website. I have never tasted or seen the Golden grapefruit. Looks tasty on the picture.

Galka,

nice find!

save the seeds (or collect as many seeds as possible)

those wild pawpaws can be valuable for sale or trade!
Sure, I will. I just looked and it seems the little guy got pollinated. Should I protect it from critters and how? Also maybe I should give it some kind of support. It's lying on the ground.

Sorry to barge in on the conversation Galka but you may want to consider topping your seedling Loquat very low, leaving perhaps 4 leaves below the cut so that new sprouts will come up that you can graft. If you graft your tree too high up, it will grow several more feet before it flowers and fruits and the fruit will be difficult to protect and harvest.

Adam, can you ship your Jaboticaba trees to California yet? Thanks,
Simon

Simon, thank you for the advice. So I should top it and wait for the new sprouts before purchasing the scions? How long they should get to be ready for grafting?

I bought a bag of Texas Red Grapefruits (that's the name they had on a sticker). They were the sweetest grapefruits I've ever tasted. Would like to know what variety it was Rio red or Texas Sweet. Here is a picture. Collected a few seeds. Will they come true to the original fruit?

457
Yeah, I need some scions. Since I have two overgrown seedlings I would like to try to graft 4 different varieties. What do you think? I need to take pics of my seedlings, so you can see what I'm talking about.

2 feet tall? What type of guava? I''d like to see a pic  :)

My largest that is fruiting is a pink variety in a 7 gal pot I use to shade my AC unit and I have no plans on putting it in the ground. Some of the smaller ones at 2' are pink (not named) and Mexican cream, maybe 6 of them, all blooming or with fruit recently put in the ground. The only small ones (2-3') left in a pot are a Mexican cream and an Allahabad, both blooming or fruiting.

I'll put a pic up later on today.

My Mexican and Thai 2' tall are fruiting but Pink 7' growing like crazy.

Just wanted to say thank you, Adam, for the tour so I got to see your nice plants and even pick some fruits to taste, for the bonus plants you were so kind to give me, for all your advice and tips on grafting (and I forgot about loquat scions). We even brought some of your big mosquitoes home, haha, thanks to my husband. BTW, Jabos are delicious. Replanted all my new "babies" and gave them a nice place in a greenhouse. It was nice to meet you.  ;)

jbaqai Could you post a picture please? I have both Pink and Strawberry guava trees in pots. I bought them at same time. They are 4y.o. old now. The Strawberry guava produced first fruits (not a lot, hope to get more this year) 2 years ago but Pink guava is stubborn. I think I bought a seedling and this year when it should start producing. I noticed a flower yesterday so hopefully I will have to taste one. I prune it every winter/spring because it gets large. I should re-pot it I know but it seems the tree is quite happy in it.

Found this website. There is a picture of a bunch of them. So, is it a different variety? And there is another one strange looking pineapple.  :o http://discovery-garden.org/?p=469

I was thinking maybe...maybe I get lucky and become a proud owner of your 2nd grafted plant when I see you next week.  :)

465
Looks good, Adam.  I still have the grafted plant I got from you.  Not much growth lately but it's indoors for the winter.

glad to hear from you!!

that was the only one I ever grafted!  I need to make more!  You might have the only one in the USA that's grafted!

good luck with your plant...i think it will flower in another year.

Did you make some more, Adam?  :)

Look good. They are my favorite. I just picked up a bunch of trees.

I think I am going to make a windbreak with them.
Hi sugar top. We must be neighbors so to speak. I'm in Clermont too. Where did you find your trees?

Lady Lake HD had them in 3gall (and M.Lychee) a couple of weeks ago.

Adam, did you get my email?

I've seen weevils that get into trees that look like that.  Never seen it on citrus.  My guess is that there is something in there.
Is there a pin hole on it?
Should it be a critter you could stab it with a pin/nail.  The more slicing, the more damage.
I'd do a long vertical slice if you decide to explore, less cambium loss.
Let the experts weigh in.
I don't see any holes on it. I will explore it for sure.  :)

Adam, I would like  a couple of these WJs and Sweet stripes if you have them for sale. I only have 12 pineapple plants so far... need more, haha.  ;D

Thanks guys. I decided to cut the branch off. The tree is kinda leggy so it needs to be pruned anyway. I will also cut that bump open to see what is inside and take some pics.

473
I got my Red Lime at Lowe's two weeks ago. Going to buy Red Finger lime from Harris too. My Green Finger lime is blooming for it's first time. I don't think it will fruit this year though.

My Mexican Lime got this bump on its trunk. I have no idea what it is. Should I cut it off? I don't know how to do it so I won't lose the tree. Any ideas?
