Thanks for the help everyone. Do you think they will fruit in pots? Its just about spring here as the daffodils etc are flowering and the gooseberry is starting to leaf up. Just sown my vege seeds etc to.

what does loquat taste like? Quinces are used for making jam am i right? Medlar is a odd looking fruit wonder what it tastes like?

 I have got a young citrus avacado grown from seed lucuma icecream bean tamarillo and some others which are overwintered inside.

Do you know any rare temperate fruits?

currants gooseberry strawberries do well here and japanese raisin tree, i absolutely love mangoes

So is it a cold hardy plant ? a NZ website says its hardy to -5C i was wondering if this was true or not? cheers

I have ordered a Casimiroa edulis plant it is double grafted here is the description it is $40 NZ

These have been double grafted with Pike and LNP scion wood, so will take care of their own pollination

Hi KarenRai i think we will have similar temperatures maybe, in winter frosts get to -5.5 C and the summer highs are in the 20's but we have a very high UV light from the sun here, my plants go outside in summer, its just about spring here yay

I am so stressing about the temperature i dont want to stuff up with the generosity of everyone here, its starting to warm up because some of my other plants are starting to bud up so hopefully the moisture and temperature wont make the seeds rot? Thanks for the info everyone

thanks mike should i put them in the hot water cupboard to germinate (in a zip lock bag) and then transfer them to laundry when they root? or should i try germinate them straight where they will be growing in soil? the laundry gets quite warm because the dryer is going quite often, thanks everyone for the help

these seeds were thanks to gouarlata, the temperature could be warmer in the hot water cupboard but it will be dark the cacao already has root nubs,

the other seeds are pouteria camito, diospyros digyna, salacca wallichiana, rollinia deliciosa, averrhoa carambola and nephelium lappaceum
