There was a point it was raining/misting every day for 3 weeks.   Leaves started to push out but now I don't know what happened.

602
Got this  tree last year October and it keeps trying to push out new leaves but they eventually dry out and die.   Water daily except when it rains.   I know the drainage is good.   Ph of soil. Around 7.   Any ideas or tips what to do???

the fruits look kinda like a red grumichamma, but beyond that I don' tknow what to expect taste wise, let alone worth getting. I figure someone on here must have tried it.

i overnight soaked them myself and what not. it's about 2 weeks now.  i lifted some out of the potting mix and notice a few have mold growing. hope that is not a completely bad thing.  i had like 20 seeds or so.  15 sunk, 5 floaters.  i just planted them all for good measure. hopefully it'll work out in the end.

acquired some seeds from a local farm.  I've planted them in a potting mix with good drainage.  planted them crescent down per instructions from the farm.  how long do they take to germinate usually?  thanks for the advice!

Im on the Hunt for Lychee, Mangos, Durian, Mangosteen, sugar apple, whatevers in season...I want it!!!

Where are you? There are tons of lychees and mangoes on the Big Island this year. I'm sure they're making their way to Oahu. Ofcoruse you will have to pay inflacted city prices there. Durian you can probably forget it, wrong time. There are a few mangosteen flolating around, high priced as they're off season. Sugar apple not popular in Hawaii. Tons of rollinias though. Others in season: starapple, canistel, white sapote, brazilian cherry, mamey sapote, black sapote, green sapote.

Oahu lychee prices are dropping!  The best year in a while!

oh jeff.  yeah.  I have bought some acai seeds.  looks fresh.  bought a few plants. packed very well.  but I live in Oahu so shipping is easy and I get it next day after he drops it off at the post office.  but based on his packing so long as the weather is not bad, you should get your stuff in good order.

Where do you buy this variety of peach in hawaii?   Some relatives from Georgia just moved to washi away and may appreciate some reminders of home growing in their yard!

Not available.

too bad. they'll just have to get used to eating only mangoes and lychees.  :)

oh, not too big. cool.

adam.  I don't know my florida geography, but I can see you pureeing the starcherry as well as other fruits make popsicles and sell them summer time in Miami/south beach wherever it's hot and people like to eat popsicles.  there's a local company here in Oahu called Onopops that have quite a variety of 'different' popsicle flavors.  great way to make value added products and sell some leather on the side!

Cashew was growing and is now about 3 meters high .

As far as taproot issues, that was brought up by the farmer in Kauai that I'm getting the seeds from.   But i also talked to another cashew farmer in India said I could possibly do in containers but gotta be large enough and fertilize "the right amoUnt."  Need to clarify with him but it's worth a shot and document for myself.

so for both of you guys it seems like your cashews aren't thriving b/c of soil/temperature issues.  but not pot size.... at least from what I can tell.  I'm getting seeds from a Kauai grower and she emphasized that the taproot is key to the cashew health so i assume that a large deep pot would be key.  of course i am working with a regular cashew and not a dwarf.

Glad to hear about your progress. 8) Sad to hear that you want to go way of ScamBay. Godfather says why enrich Scambay coffers?  :o Put the loot and effort into your own website! In the long run you will be very glad you did. And also you will have a lot more control over your website than over what happens in ScamBay.

as a scambay shareholder, I would love to see the stock and dividend price go up with the addition of your stuff for sale, adam.  on the other hand, I think don Corleone is right about putting the effort into your own site.  you can probably make more money doing it yourself...albeit with some work up front. maybe do a plant swap + cash to someone on here (especially in florida that can design your website to make it easy for you to manage.
