Bali salak is the general  name for all bali types and each of the 13 main ones have their own name.Boni, gula pasiir and nanas are examples of bali salak (S.zalacca group amboina) which are all bisex. As I said look at that Master Thesis on varieties of Bali salak and all will be revealed.Hifarm/John posted it a couple of years ago in the library section of this forum.

Thanks Mike, I downloaded. this is very interesting,

Therefore I ask and the discussion in advance, so that I not wrong determine varieties. I just feel the 3 types of salak from Bali, salak bali, Gula Pasir and boni. I am still looking for salak nangka (salak has a taste like jackfruit), salak nana (nanas) (taste like pineapple), salak cengkeh (taste like cloves), salak putih (white flash), salak beringin, salak cemara, salak sepet, salak embadan, salak injin (fleshy color blackish)

Fajar can you post a picture or describe the flesh colour? Micah will also be able to identify this bali variety.
It sure looks like the red fleshed Bali salak we grow.  Boni
Most of the flesh that covers seed is looking like your picture..sort of striped zebra style...and the smaller garlic looking pieces that don't have seed are usually all red.
And yes it is delicious!  I'm glad to hear you think so too Fajar! I was wondering how it compared to the other types you have had for sale.

Thank you Micah, I  very lucky meet this salak, but I do not meet the tree. There are 15 type of salak in Bali.
Friends, explain to me what is NANA varieties. what salak varieties nana has sour taste?

Hi friend. What the salak that I found is red flesh Boni? The flesh is cruchy and sweeter than salak gula pasir. The first bite is crunchy and crisp, second bite  will come out fresh liquids such as sugar and does not make nauseated. It is very delicious. It salak most delicious I've ever been eaten.

perhaps you mean Selat is Sibetan, friend.
yes right, salak gula pasir grown in the foothills of Mt Agung. Agung mountains are still active. very nice salak grows at the foot of the volcano. Volcanic ash makes the soil fertile and making salak flourish and have sweet taste. like gula pasir, pondoh also grown at the foot of Mount Merapi in Yogyakarta, Java. Mount Merapi volcano is also included. The mountain is the most active volcano in the world.

93
what the region your friend? what in the Sibetan village? salak gula pasir derived from Sibetan region.

94
friend
This is a comparison of the size, color and shape of the seeds of 5 different types of bark that I have. salak gula pasir is the sweetest of all. but there are one varieties salak supposedly sweeter than salak gula pasir, namely the red flesh Boni. I'm looking for it now.

97
betul Bung, kalau tanaman asli Indonesia tidak bakal dikasih ijin. karena takutnya di masa depan kita impor tanaman atau buah dari negara luar. contohnya saja anggrek hitam dari Papua.

99
