This usually happens with Jack seedlings. Not to worry.

Perlite is not a substitute for vermiculite! Use moist vermiculite for Kokum, Lemondrop mangosteen and grumichama.

153
It is available on Amazon.com.

154
These are not G.speciosa. I think it is G. hombroniana.

Does it have any latex? What is the taste like? I do not think it is a Garcinia.

Both, the water caltrop(Hakuna Matata) and the water chestnut(Eleocharis dulcis) are plants which can be grown in ponds and harvested for their corms. The corms are good to eat boiled.

No it won't die. Wait for a few more days, when the seed lifts up you may have to help the  cotelydons seperate from the shoot.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / E.stipitata

My 30 month old E.stipitata flowered and set one fruit. The fruit is 2.5 inches  and two days ago it turned yellow and dropped. The fruit has a very nice fruity smell, but is too sour to eat. Are all E.stipitata fruits inedible?

Thank you VG. Excellent suggestion!!

171
DL and Ed, It does not matter, the banana is there to provide shade for the mangosteen. Both are provided more than enough fert. and water!

172
My 30 month old 'Mesta' mangosteen seedling. I bought it near Raub,Malaysia.

173
Those are definitely not mangosteen seeds/seedlings.
