Hello Mike, how are you doing?
Here marang bears just once a year.
By the way the intense drought caused by El Nino in 2015-2016 has delayed blossoming and fruiting this year of about one month

161
Hello everybody!
To all Marang lovers: Finally I   have some seeds available.
They are from the same fruits, same tree as last year.
For more information you can check my previous post:

Just PM if interested.

Thanks!  :)

P.S.
If you are importing seeds to US, Australia or other "strictly regulated"  country please be aware you are doing at your own risk and read some useful information as follows. Thanks!

Grafting is not so commonly practiced with pomegranate since there are several other easier method of vegetative propagation like marcotting or root suckers

Hehe, they call it FOUR SEASONS lemon since it's crowded all year round  with flowers and fruits but the actually main flowerings are THREE.
A lot depends on your cultivation/growing conditions.
In Italy we're used to inducelemon  blossoming with a "water stress" period followed by drenching and fertilizing

Yes definitely!
And I am hoping too that next spring at least one of other seedling will bloom to have better cross pollination

Yes that's quite fast.
First fruit I harvested when I noticed it stopped growing and the skin was no more shiny but getting a little bit more dull green.
The others i waited more, until some hint of dark read appeared on the top fruit.
I was scared at the idea they might fall down for the wind,  fruits are very heavy.
I still have one last fruit left on the tree and i'm waiting for it to turn definitely dark red before harvesting it.
Anyway, all the fruits I harvested ripened in 4-7 days in the kitchen

Here are a couple of pics from my tree grown from seed planted in December 2012.  I topped it a couple of times as it began leaning after some wind.  I think this is a seedling of Reed.

Dylan your tree is awesome! I love it's deep green thick and dense crown.
And such amount of fruits it's really  amazing!  :P

Lory, how many months was your fruit on the tree?

Tree flowered approximately first week of March. I harvested at the end of august so it's 6 months

Yes I tried the Reed and it's one of my favourites too!
I think this one has a lot in common with the Reed including the leathery skin and the creamy delicous deep gold flesh.
Maybe it's "father" was a Reed  ;D
Quality of fruit is really excellent but there are so many other important characteristis to consider to select a good variety, adaptability to soil, climate, polination, constant/alternate bearing behaviour..... i definitely need some more time to evaluate it better

They fruit I have had were good.  My trees are setting fruit for the first time this year from seed.

How old are your trees?
Can a tree with only FEMALE flowers set fruits without pollination?
Dyospiros kaki for example can produce fruit for Parthenocarpy i.e. withoud fertilization. Fruits are obviously seedless.
What about the black sapote?
A seedling of mine is 4 years old and flowered for the first time last june but dropped all flowers after a few weeks so i'm wondering if it's a pollination problem or if it's just because the tree is still in its "juvenile" period

Great looking fruit Lory! If it's got the goods in the taste department then name it :)

In Italy they say  " ogni scarrafone è bello a mamma sua"  meaning.... every little cockroach is beautiful in  his mother's eyes. but.....without being  presumptuous, having eaten the third fruit of this tree i can say without any doubt that this is the best tasting avocado i had in my life.
Texture is amazingly creamy, like a butter and flavour is so intense and pleasant.
Out of ref with a little brown sugar sprinkled on it it's like a delicous ice cream!
I've no idea how could i name it  :D
