Anyone have any information on Annona cristalensis? I cant find anything other then the statement that it is endemic to Cuba.

I didn't realize A. crassiflora was a Cerrado species as well. That makes me sad. I'll probably submit myself to the curse trying to grow one of those. Any luck with the aluminum additions on any other species?

Completely agree. Minimum effort to throw a few tags to call attention to variety. There's a hell of a premium on those bananas too.

I'm starting to build a nice collection of annonas and I'm interested in any advice of good fertilizer blends, frequency, and best times to fertilize. I ran a few searches in here but haven't found much. I haven't hurt anything yet but I've just been using a very light dose of 10-10-10.

Any insight into different species preferences appreciated as well. I've got a few sugar apples, Rollinia's, soursop, atemoya, custard apple, and Guanabana de Monte. I want to treat these babies right.

The downside to that weed block is that you will block any rain that isn't heavy enough to flow under that plastic. Do you have irrigation set up? I was assuming you don't perhaps erroneously.

The R. emarginata has the most wonderfully fragrant flowers!  They smell like white chocolate, banana pudding!  I can smell them 8 ft away from the plant.

The flowers get a slight purple tinge to them when they're really fragrant...it's hard to see in the photo, but I tried to get a pic of the color change.

Also, I think I see some fruits setting!!!

Does air layering work for Illama? My neighbor has a tree I'm hand pollinating right now and I'm entertaining the notion of getting my own. I dont have any root stock right now or I would go that way. I do have a young seedling as well so if it doesnt take its not the end of the world. I just dont want to harm the tree unnecessarily.

Quite a rare fruit also here in New Caledonia but pretty good taste, similar to a very tasty melon of Cavaillon I would say. We have two trees, one is fruiting a lot but average size fruits, the other one less fruits but huge ones that weight around the kilogram each.
Both trees are about 20 years old now and they are from seeds brought back from Perou. I will try to graft that specie this year onto last year seedlings. Any tips/info about grafting that specie are welcome.
