Tropical Fruit Discussion / Baccauera, varieties of good taste?
« on: August 25, 2016, 07:59:32 PM »
Hello Guys, today I was talking to my friend Ricbitar, and our subject were baccaureas good taste, I have baccaurea racemosa and baccaurea ramiflora, these species grow well on my farm in southeastern Brazil, I want to make a commercial plantation of these fruits.
Here I have trees to 2 years and 3 m high.
There are varieties taste better than these two?
We can engraft baccaureas?
Does anyone have seeds to trade?
Generally exotic species are more interesting, Brazil has many native fruits, but people sometimes prefer the news is baccaureas are new here!
Thanks!

Hello Friend,

Monday, I checked my tree of Araçauna, and fruits were ripe, I do not know for sure what is the scientific name of this tree, it is native to the farm, very old, at least 30 years.I think it's a tree Psidium Eugeniaefolia

The taste is similar to common guava, but with a slight sour, similar to a Campomanesia, mixing sweet flavors and sour at the same fruit.

I will harvest the fruits and start the fermentation to make a kind of Araçauna wine.

Many fruit trees with flowers on the farm now! Several species starting its bloom!

Thanks.

Hello friends

The custom house of Brazil is analyzing all packets before they retained the seed packets coming from other countries.

At the moment they are holding the seeds we ship the Brazil abroad!

We'll have to be patient for the seeds to reach the recipients.

I am very sad, because we were always hoping the seeds arrive, even though I do not sell or buy seeds, losing only lose the value of the post.

A scrap!
