Really nice looking greenhouse. I like the glass sliding doors. Why is the back side lower? Your dragon fruit looks delicious.

Size is not everything. There is a lot of good late fruit.
I agree, size isn't everything. ;D  Actually, I think I would rather have one with smaller fruit. Just looking for a good avocado tree as my main plant and I want to try to graft some other varieties on to it.

It's basically an improved Russell. Fruit seems to mature a few weeks later, flavor had a touch of sweetness.
Thanks for the info. That's more than I got from Lara. I knew you guys would come thru for me.  :)

Here is the rest of the info that I was emailed. Not much on words, are they? Don't think I'm interested with such few details. I was wanting to graft others on it to have a longer season, but without knowing a better time frame of when the avocados would be ready then I will just get a different tree.

Really nice fruit jungle going on there. Beautiful garden. Wished I would have been able to grow all that when we lived in San Jose, but I guess I didn't put in enough effort.  :-\

Wished hubby could bring me some back from Chile since I have never tried them. I have always wanted to taste them. One of these days I will go with him. Problem with that is that I hqve been saying that for 16 years.  :(

Hi Carlos,
I emailed and asked the same questions. His response was that it is meaty and gets to about 3 pounds. I emailed back the other questions and have not heard from him yet. I was also wondering what others thought about it. I found it at a Home Depot. Since I found it there I thought there would be more info on the web, but really can't find any.

I went out of the country for a while and mine died. It was still in the pot and it didn't get enough water from the sprinkler. I am now looking for another one.  >:(

Hi,
Has anyone tasted this? I can't really find any info on it. When are they ready to eat, about how big does the tree get or anything else you can tell me about it. How does it taste?
Thanks,
Renee

Great photos. What varieties are the tomatoes? Same or different? Those are some huge tomatoes and plants.

Was in Grenada 2 weeks ago. Wished I could have brought some back with me. They were tasty.

Mine arrived last week all in perfect condition.
Thanks,
Renee

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Garcinia Cambogia diet pill
« on: October 11, 2013, 02:25:09 PM »
Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know if these help lose weight? I think it is just like all the other ads that say it does, but really dont. Someone has called twice asking me to read about it and to let her know what I thought. Before I even looked into it I told her I didn't think they would work. If they really were some miracle diet drug then 1/2 the country would be on them and it would be all over the news. I have never even heard about them before. The instructions say "to exercise and eat a healthy diet" along with the pills. Those are the key words to me. You can take anything, but without diet and exercise you will not lose weight. Unfortunately, I suck at both of those. There also has been some man that has called her 3-4 times telling her how great they are and trying to get her to buy them. That right there is another red flag. Why is he having to push something that is so great?

Can I get some opinions from others who are not trying to sell these pills so I can show her? She wanted my opinion, but I guess it's not what she wanted to here. Hopefully others here have the same opinion as I do so she can see I am not the only one. Besides if they were a miracle pill I would be taking them.   :)
TIA

Wow that would have been a cool place to visit. Wished I would have known about it in the early 90's (till '93) when we lived in Key West.
Put me on the list.

I tasted one, but never heard of it so I was wondering if others had them. I didn't notice a cheese smell at all. It was sweet and creamy. I was thinking about planting the seeds. Is there any way to tell if the plant is male or female before it gets very old?

Ed, sorry I missed your question. I have not been on in a few days. Future thanks for the answer.

I tossed those seeds, but will be having a bunch again in the next day or two if someone wants them.

Nice looking fruit. One of these days I am going to get my grubby paws on a CC.

...."But my experience with asian guests is that they want to have fruits that don't grow in their country. So give them the best strawberry's availlable, or best peaches (wild peaches are in fashion now) or much cherry's. In Europe they sell mini sugar apricots now who are really sweet.
I agree. When I travel to different countries I want to eat their food and learn about their culture. Its amazing the different tasting things all over the world.
