maybe for experiment, try stucco patching it?

thanks Waxy. I guess i'll have to wait another year for the longan blooms then.

3
Waxy,
since you in my area, I like to know when does your longan start flowering?   My graft lychee already started flowering in Dec.  But kohala seedling started about 10yrs ago is still no sign of flowers.  Kohala was in a pot, but I cut out the bottom of the pot last summer so that it can extend it's roots into the ground.  Kohala is about 5-6ft tall now.  survive the cold pretty here even though it is out in the open with no protection.

Very nice!  I didn't know Viet Nam was cool enough to grow those varieties.  I guess I thought the whole country was very hot and humid.

Northern vietnam is cold, especially Sapa area.

Beware of the lychee thieves.   I have heard that the thieves will pickup all the fruits so quick while you're gone.

6
you have purple Annona squamose in season now?

7
Maybe Squam can share us what the flavor is for arumanis.  Is it good like the video claims?

8

is it started from seeds?  very nice.

Mine is from seed, about 10yrs now and no fruit yet.  It's outside unprotected.  I just cut the bottom of the pot out last year.  Hopefully, the roots extend out and gophers don't eat them.

My asian guavas are about to turn yellow. Yet it is still super crunchy and sweet with a bit of acid and guava flavor, with juice as well.   oval looking and smooth surface.

I have three different varieties that are about ready to eat right now.   One of them was started from a seed I bought back from Hanoi.
The other two varieties were started from seeds from my cousin and aunt's tree.   One is elongated oval looks similar to the hanoii, but surface is  crooked.  The other is more rounded like an apple.

This is the first time they are so late to harvest.  best flavors compare to other previous years.  Next year, I will let the fruits hang onto the tree longer to get the sweet, acidic, guava flavors so that it doesn't taste like cardboard.

fruitlover, I don't have commercial orchard.  It's a few of the fruit trees I am growing for consumptions.
But I want to boast to people that I am growing them organically.   Of all the fruit trees, mango tree is the only one that I need to spray copper fungicide.  cherimoya, banana, guava, white sapote, lychee, longan,etc.. do need any fungicide at all in my garden.    and the copper fungicide does works on the mango trees.  especially on the fruitlets.

I spray my mango tree with copper fungicide.   I have not been using any chemicals or fertilizer, only just compost and water.    Is my mango still consider organic?

Follow-up.  The one seedling that sprouted dampened off and died.  Still no other seeds have sprouted.  This is strange as I have planted many Annonas before and usually get high rates of germination.  I have many 1-2 year old seedlings ready to be grafted onto.  I hope I can get a scion from you Luke when they become available.

same thing happen to me.  one seed germinated so far. and it is struggling to survive.
