If you are talking about the hass variety & reed. I would go for reed.
However, if u talk about Sir Prize Hass / Lamb Hass. Reed will not compete im my taste buds

I had 2 guavas unprotected with a temperature of 29f for 2 straight nights & it did not harm the tree.

I have great success using three different sources of rock dust, worm gold plus, eco scraps compost, boogie brew compost tea, pure protein dry (fish meal), sea90 & dr earth planting mix upon transplanting.

Then as a maintenance/ foliar feed & drenching the soil, i infuse the beneficial microbes.
I use boogie brew compost tea, pure protein dry, sea90 & i add worm gold plus.

Every 3 months, i sprinkle rock dusts on top of the soil.

Azomite will never work if you dont have the beneficial microbes (good bacteria & fungi).

All that I use are OMRI listed.

Plus I use 4-6 inches of mulch such as dried leaves, grass cuttings, pine needles.

And i never use water that came straight from the hose. I use a water filter to reduce/ eliminate the chlorine.

All that i do will be useless, if i dont filter my water, chlorine will kill the microorganisms.

I never got bug problems when i used these products.
In fact, i attracted lady bugs, praying mantis or any other beneficial insects mostly on my citruses.

Aphids were not of a problem anymore on my veggie section.

As topic states, preferably the Florida Sweet variety.

The # 1 technique is a healthy soil then foliar.

This tree was described to me by the seller as an "Australian" type. Is this fruit ready to be picked? Should I wait for it to soften up a bit?
Thanks,
Trung

What variety is that?

When will be the next tasting?
Will it be open to the public(like us forum members)?

I use Sea90 salt as an alternative & dilute it to 1tsp to 1 gallon as natural products from the sea contains 90+ trace elements which the soil does not contain nowadays.

My pool has been getting a lot of leaves due to Santa Ana winds & our average temperature during the day is mid 80s & at nigh early 50s. I do love the wind except the fact my other trees dont like it.
