Nope, think of a cross between a mandarin and a pomelo, the size and sweetness of a mandarin, but the shape, color Inside of a pomelo.

I believe the liu ding was very pale in comparison to a regular orange, was much smaller, and had these thick separators not unlike a pomelo. It also tastes somewhat like a valencia orange but better!

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Is Sugar Apple possible in Socal?
« on: June 18, 2016, 02:09:30 AM »
Hello there,

I bought a sugar apple grafted onto a cherimoya from a farmer in San Diego, not an atemoya judging by the flowers, and I was wondering if they could grow here, as I have heard that they are extremely frost-sensitive here in socal. I would also like to know when to pollinate their flowers

I water it deeply once a week, it has a few cedar trees as a windbreak, I fertilize it in March,April,May, and September, The Landscaper thought it was a brilliant idea to plant it near some decomposed granite! I believe i use an organic mix bought locally, I also put some slow release nitrogen fertilizer, and due to my time i cannot send you a photo. it was not root-bound when i bought it. The original soil is clay, while it guts at least 8 hours of sun

EDIT: The variety is Hak Ip, or Taiwan Black leaf

265
My lychee tree is not growing any new leaves despite being in the round for a while. Does anyone have a solution to this problem

266
