I tasted a few mangos this year . We did have a lot of rain in Martin and St Lucie but I dont think the fruit up here was as washed out as some in Palm beach.  How was your fruit and were are you. One of the best fruit I had this year was PPK from up here. I had some Lemon Zest from Zills trees that was great that is Palm Beach county.

All the rain has washed the calcium out of the soil. Will cause internal break down.

Can you get a picture of the graft. Looks like the fruit is below the graft. A three year old tree that big can hold that fruit.

Did it have a Hopkins tag on it. It is a fruit that Billy Hopkins thought was good enough to grow. I sold some trees from his nursery. Don't remember tasting the fruit.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Re: Florida persimmons
« on: July 01, 2017, 08:45:02 AM »
I dont have the native persimmon with the small astringent fruit. There is a wild tree growing close to me that I am going to get the seed from. Maybe the fruit ripens in oct or nov . I dont know were Dr. Crane got his tree from. I have seen 15 gallon trees that Zill had loaded with fruit That is what started my new interest .
